When New & Sealed means Used & Dusty

Recommended Posts

I just received this Jaguar cartridge from an ebay seller that I bought for £12.50/$25. It was supposed to be new and sealed but it's arrived opened and with dust in the grooves at the front of the cartridge and dust in the ATARI wording at the back.

Should I complain to eBay or Pay Pal or just put it down to bad experience?

It depends how badly you want to have it new and sealed. Are you going to put it on the shelf, or are you going to play it?

I'd ask for an explanation from the seller first. If he didn't deliver the item as described, you can demand to ship it back for a refund... but for a $25 item you're going to play IMHO it's not worth the aggravation and hassle.

You should definitely let the seller know the item delivered was not described accurately, and that some folks would demand a refund.

Yeah, I would contact the seller about it.

If he doesn't want to coorporate, you can give him negative feedback(which he deserves)

Of course, there is a chance that you will also receive negative feedback from him, no matter how correct you handled the whole deal.

That's the way most seller's do, that's the way the feedback system works (most of the time) sadly....

Complain to the seller for a start, then to e-bay (not that they will be much use)

But the going rate for a complete in box is a lot less than that, I paid £4.50 about 3 months ago.

Enjoy the game though, best Jag game ever IMO

Dishonest people suck, don't they? Enjoy the game....still worth the price of admission.

It's always good to ask before you go ahead and buy. You might find someone here

who has dealt with that guy and would know to warn you to procede wtih caution. I as

a practice stay away from ebay as much as possible. WHATEVER YOU DO... be careful

of SweetStuf4U. He is less than reasonable.

:| I've been burned so many times by eBay sellers...

That probably explains why I hardly use eBay anymore.

The last item I bought about 8 months ago were two Atari 2600 joystick cable

extenders; 6-8$ It took about two weeks, to send me two Atari 2600 joysticks

by accident. The seller said I could keep the joysticks and they would send me

the cable extenders. A few days later she contacted me and said, she thought

they were a different brand joystick, and I had to send them back. I was so

fed up I sent them back Priority Mail. Two weeks later my cable extenders

showed up.

Grant you, I paid the price of Priority Mail Shipping, to begin with.

ALthough you got the wrong item(s), 2 weeks isnt a long time to wait, unless they promised them to you sooner.

There have been one or two things I got from e-bay but it was usually from a well

respected source. That's a lot of cost and trouble for 2600 joystick extender cables.

You probably could have went to Radio Shack or something and got them cheaper,

no? Any DB 9 cable male to female with all the wires should work. Dang, you could

have bought the parts a lot cheaper and probably would have been a lot less stressful

if you can solder and such that is.

goatari sells it new and sealed for that price i believe

And ships them in bubble envelopes and overcharges for shipping.

As for the OP - I say if the T2K cart works, can be cleaned, and the "sealed" part isn't an issue (as in, you intended to open it anyway), I wouldn't make a fuss of it. Just don't use that seller again.

The cart doesn't look too bad.

Quite honestly I'd report him to ebay. If he'll do it to you, he'll do it to other people. If people actually reported bad sellers I wouldn't have had issues with several people.
