I have dos 2.5 loaded into Atari800Winplus emulator, and i have a hard drive.

 

I want to see what is on the hard drive from the emulator how do i do this from DOS 2.5

Enable the Hard Drive "H:" device first. I don't usually bother with "Read only mode". Then you have to set which directory each one points to.

 

It's all in the Help system - plus it explains ATASCII conversion using H6: etc.

 

To get a directory, just specify H: as the filespec. Memory fading here... pretty sure wildcards don't quite work properly though.

Of course DOS 2.5 doesn't support subdirectories of your HD.

If you need that, try MyDOS or SpartaDOS.

DOS 2.5 is "unfriendly" towards H: devices largely because it insists on 8.3 filenames within the DOS menu.
