A new Tilt arcade opened up down the road from me.

A new arcade has opened up down the road from me at the local mall,Tilt.Now let me say this is nothing to get excited about at the moment.

 

I made Mrs.Jboypacman go along with me to check it out and it wasnt very impressive sadly(I would settled for decent)it had a few driving and gun games along with one pinball game(southpark)which wasnt even working,Marvel Vs Capcom 2 which you could lift the board up and mess around with wiring.

 

The newest thing in there was a Deal or No Deal machine and there was a DDR machine but it wasnt working either.I hope they are in the process of getting everything up and working otherwise i cant see this arcade lasting long.

I haven't seen a "good" arcade in many years, and I haven't seen one like the old ones for well over a decade..... but I don't get out much anymore.

Yeah, it's pretty sad. The only decent "arcades" I've had the good fortune to visit are those at arcade-related events around the country. The best ones have been arcade-only events--such as the Texas Pinball Festival and the Houston Area Arcade Expo. And of course there's California Extreme, which sadly I have not yet had a chance to attend. Outside of that, as well as the smaller arcades setup at various gaming expos (like the traveling Videotopia collection), it's rare to find a decent arcade with anything but modern coin-gobbling arcade games. I've yet to visit Funspot, which is something I'll definitely be doing the next time I'm in New England.
