2600jr with broken plastic. Worth keeping?

Recommended Posts

I got a 2600jr at Goodwill yesterday. It works great, but the cartridge slot has some broken and missing plastic. One of the prongs that opens/holds the carts in place is missing, and two of the corners are chipped.

I've never had a Jr. before, but I'm wondering what the general consensus is on this sort of thing. Are they often busted like this? Should I keep it or return it and wait for one in better shape?

What would you do?

I guess you're referring to the cart port on the console, right? You could try calling Brad at Best. I'm not sure if that piece is a separate thing on the board - like the 7800 - or if it's part of the top case half. Whichever it is, he may have a replacement part.

Or you could try to find someone with a busted junior willing to donate the case parts you need.
