Gregory DG #1 Posted July 23, 2002 Has anyone thought about creating Doom or Quake maps the mimic the original Adventure maps? I think it'd be cool to be able to see 2600 graphics in all it's 3d glory! Imagine looking up at the black castle and seeing the evil bat fly out of it and steal your sword! Hmm... Sounds like a fun project to me!
NE146 #2 Posted July 23, 2002 nifty idea! I was thinking something along the same lines but making quake or doom into a 3D Berzerk. Adventure sounds like it might work as well though
Kripto #3 Posted July 24, 2002 I also had the same idea in mind but will be making it for Mac OS X when I finish learning to program Cocoa. If you want a Quake map with an object stealing bat and Adventure-style dragons, then you need to make a mod. Programming experience would be highly recommended. The Flash version of Adventure is pretty amazing but I wish a level editor had been included!

That would be so cool, or Doomzerk in glorious 3d, the Quake engine would look even more realistic since you can't look up or down with Doom, and Quake does support changing the view angles. You would probably have to rename it to something different and change the robots shape or colors to avoid copyright conflicts to be able to release it to the public, not sure about it at the moment we'll have to dig some more on that topic. bcsnow #6 Posted July 24, 2002 Why don't use the max-payne engine? It looks good and level editors are included.
