JagChris #3 Posted October 29, 2007 (edited) For those of you who don't have an IRC client, or are apprehensive of downloading and trying one just for a one night chat thing, sorcery.net has a web browser based irc applet for quick chatting ability with a minimum of headache. http://www.sorcery.net/index.php?opt...per&Itemid=416 Put in whatever nickname you wish to use and in the channel field replace '#portal' with '#Jaguar_Sector_II' and away you go. JagChris #4 Posted October 29, 2007 (edited) Connecting to Jaguar Sector II irc channel using the Opera web browsers built in IRC client. This is only to get initially setup and connected. Afterwards you don't have to go through these steps again: First click on tool ->mail and chat accounts A new account wizard pops up. Click on 'Chat(IRC)' A little 'manage accounts' window appears. Click on the 'Add' button: It'll ask you for your user name/nickname you want to use and your email. You dont have to use real info: It will then ask you what irc server to connect to. Put in irc.sorcery.net: Opera's IRC client will then connect to sorcery.net showing you a huge list of rooms. You can scroll down and click on Jaguar_Sector_II or you can click the 'join' button and manually type it in. If typing in Jaguar_Sector_II doesn't work then try putting the # symbol in front of it like so:#Jaguar_Sector_II. We're all waiting for you. In the future, all you need to do with Opera is hit the 'F4' button and on the left hand side a sidebar opens up(see above) showing the irc servers and rooms you've connected to in the past. Merely click on the room you wish to join again and you're up and running. If you can't see the listed chat rooms on the left sidebar when you hit 'f4' then make sure the 'chat' button is selected on the sidebar. cdoty #7 Posted October 30, 2007 The countdown timer has been corrected, it was generating the time based on the time of the computer. It should be correct now. Thanks Broonale for noticing that.

JagChris #12 Posted November 1, 2007 Here is a report on the other nights Festivities courtesy of The Grand Pubaa: I just thought I would get the ball rolling with my two cents on last night's chat. First of all, while the scheduled chat didn't start until 11 PM CDT, people were bouncing off the walls at least an hour early. It was, by far, the busiest chat that #Jaguar_Sector_II has had thusfar, and it was good fun. At one point, we had 20 people in the channel at once. Honestly, I think we could have done more, but I suppose some had work or other obligations(like sleep...poor Omf...). Rastersoft was there, obviously, and gave away a couple of shirts and mousepads at quarter-hour intervals, using Random.org as their 'mystery box'. Honestly, i'd never heard of the website before, but we learn new things every day. The night's winners were as follows: BeusherKing- T-Shirt EmOneGarand- Mousepad viMaster- Mousepad WalterJ64- T-Shirt The shirt and pad were Rastersoft-themed, of course, depicting the Rastersoft logo, the Frog Feast logo, and a cool stylized picture of a frog. Pretty nice designs. I didn't win anything, but then, I didn't expect to, so it's all good. Last night's chat was also home to Rastersoft's sliver of a preview of their new game, which is based on a korean dos freeware title called Connaone( http://www.the-underdogs.info/game.php?id=2689 ). The project page, found here( http://www.rastersoft.net/project/ ), is basic, depicting only a single screenshot and a link to a very, very early BJL demo(Raster informed us that he had spent about two and a half hours throwing it together total, so it is quite simple at present). viMaster was kind enough to grab a short video of the demo in progress, and it can be found at . viMaster also grabbed some video of Frog Feast in action, and it can be found here: All in all, it was just a fun night to hang with Jaguar fans. We should really get together like this more often, to be honest. Well anyway, that's my take on the night. I'm quite certain I missed some good bits, so feel free to fill in the blanks with your own reports! *screen grabs forthcoming*
JagChris #13 Posted November 1, 2007 Additional info courtesy viMaster: Thanks for getting this rolling. Last night was, indeed, very fun. After all of it, I was pretty tired, which is unusual for me, since I normally go to bed around 2 AM. It was about 12:30 AM my time when I signed out, I believe. You guys wore me out, but it was well worth it. The early demo of the new Rastersoft game was great to see! Everyone wanted to see it ASAP, so I tried my best to get something recorded and uploaded to youtube as fast as humanly possible. It appears it should be a street fighter 2 clone, which should be fun once it's all complete. I'm guessing Charles intends to make it 2 player -- it would only make sense I believe he said there would be 7 characters, but I could be mistaken. Anyway, as soon as I saw the link to the Frog Feast on cart posted I rushed with my mouse to click it. I'm sure it was being bombarded as a couple people were having trouble getting the site to load. The only trouble I had was that it was loading slowly, but it eventually got going and I was able to order my copy before Buddies bought them all It was a blast chatting with all of you who were able to show up. I know some were there just for the festivities and to see what was going on. Not everyone planned on purchasing a Frog Feast cartridge, but I don't think that really matters. What matters is that people showed up to support a new release and chat with everyone else. It's great to see this type of excitement in the Jaguar community, especially with boat loads of negativity that usually reign supreme. Here's to more parties like last night. I would love to do something similar for every single future release on the Jaguar. Developers -- you have our support!
