Hi i got my DreamCast not long ago but I just finish Jet Set Radio and I'm searching for a new game to play... Any suggestions?

Yeah. Post this is classic or modern gaming forum. And there are alot of threads that list great DC games. Try Omikron or Shenmue if you want something that will take a long time.

Additionally there's Soul Calibur and Grandia II. I know Grandia II was ported to the PS2, but it runs better on the Dreamcast I find. I still have to get back to the Evolution games before I recommend those to others tho. :)

DC top 5 must haves, must plays....

#1 Shadowman

#2 Omikron

#3 Soul Calibre

#4 Crazy Taxi

#5 Gauntlet Legends

Please note. This list is not debatable.

These are the top 5 DC games of all time based on countless polls conducted by world leaders as well as numerous scientific theories proven in labs by high profile scientists conducting a myriad of tests and experiments cumulating in the above results… and that is all there is to it.

Moycon, do you know the difference, if any, between the N64 and Dreamcast versions of Shadowman? I've played the N64 version and have the chance to pick up the Dreamcast version real cheap. Is it worth it to play it on the Dreamcast? It's a pretty good game on the N64 too!

As far as your list goes, WHA, no 2d fighters or shooters? Blasphemy! :rolling:

Here are some old threads you can look at, I'm sure there are more but I got tired of looking. Our lists never really change, but for some reason we love to list our fav DC games ...

Seriously I love Shadowman, one of the best games ever I think. When I had the chance to get it on the N64 cheap I did and was going to play through it again (Even though I had just played through for my second time a few months prior) I just loved it so much I wanted the N64 version in case there were any differences. Storywise it's probably the same, but the experience inspired me to start this thread...

Honestly comparing the N64 version of Shadowman to the Dreamcast version is like comparing a shiny metallic pewter Corvette convertible (black ragtop) to a pile of dogshit. The DC version is that much better. You must get this game and play it to the end.

Avoid the PS2 Shadowman 2 though.

Also please don't debate or blame me for the list MCHufnagel. It's all based on scientific fact and worldwide popular vote. It's out of my hands.

Even though Foxy has linked you to multiple pages describing excellent games, I will have to give my recommendations.

1.) Sonic Adventure 2-not big among the press, but I enjoyed it overall-just don't go into it expecting Mario 64, think Mario Sunshine

2.) Marvel Vs. Capcom 2-hard to recommend because unless you pirate it (which is lame, yo) it is going to be pricey when you find it

3.) Rayman 2 is an excellent platformer if you don't have it already

4.) Power Stone 1-2. Excellent fighter, fun with friends

Agreed on the surprisingly bloated price for some of these. MvsCap2 is over $50 - I just saw the Ps2 version for $100 at The Exchange (!). Powerstone I and II seem impossible to find anymore, for me. (We own Powerstone II already).

I also already own MvsCap2 on DC though and it IS fantastic. Played it many times against friends and family, and I'm still learning nuances of various characters!

If you can find it, Street Fighter III is very impressive and fun too. I also agree on Rayman 2, if you've not played it, it is a great fun 3D platformer. Sega Rally 2 is a great and hard rally game. I love Shenmue I and II as well, especially playing Hang On/Afterburner/Outrun in them.

Add Mars Matrix to the list.

Bullet-hell vertical shooter.

It's a proper action game that's playable solely by dodging and shooting. Not a steaming pile of pattern memorization with delusions of grandeur like that shitty Ikaruga(aaaaaaand let the flames begin).

Voted most likely to be overlooked for a recommendation.

And I second Bangai-O. It's a damn fine game.

Besides, recommending it proves I'm NOT crapping on Ikaruga just because I'm a Treasure-hater. :P
