Marbled Sega Genesis controller?

At first I thought it was a weird mod-type thing that someone had done with contact paper or something, but it seems pretty permanent. I've never seen a controller like this before. It's kinda cool. Bought in a Sal Army lot.

 

Someone has to have "made" this somehow. It looks like a faux marble countertop; maybe some faux finisher practicing their trade?

It may be the reflection but it looks like the controller went for swimming in a septic tank

I've seen just about every controller for the Genny at one time or another (years of working at a game store will allow that). I've never seen anything like it. It's likely a custom job. Does it work?

It was spray painted with textured paint.

In this case it looks like the type of paint that is suppose to give

the illusion of stone.

 

You can get it anywhere. I belive krylon makes it.

Had a friend over last night and he also ID'ed it as such. It's clean, I swear, just painted with that stuff (I never knew they made such a thing) and the picture is bad. You guys are harsh!

Well, blame it on your bad lighting. A decent lighting would probably show the controller as being custom painted and not looking like some crap.

Krylon has lots of different paint you can use for that, you can get it at any walmart. It's great. Not just marble-effect, but faux-stone and metallics as well. Paint all your consoles and controllers and post pics!

They have a sub-brand Fusion that bonds with plastic too, and shouldn't chip or wear off.
