Angry Videogame nerd reviews Halloween, Hunted house, Frankestein's Monster

His stuff gets better and better. Gotta love him giving a bag of shit to those little bastard kids!

Notice how he looked at E.T. for a moment, then decided against reviewing it. Absolutely classic.

James Rolfe has done lots of little movies. Check out some on his website cinemassacre.com. I personally like the one where the two guys have the job of re-killing all the corpses that come back to life in a local graveyard. With the way the Nerd thing has taken off, it's only a matter of time before Hollywood comes-a-knockin'.

I didn't find this one to be as good (which doesn't mean it wasn't good!), I'm also not a huge fan of the direction he's been taking lately. I used to like it when he'd review the games, not make mini movies that feature some gameplay. I wish his game selection would be a bit better too. Halloween is a pretty unique (and decent) game for the 2600, it doesn't seem right that it got trashed that badly. There's a difference between bad and average. It seems as though he was harder on it than TCM, which is a truly abomination of mankind.

At least at the end of the review he said he's going to be doing shorter reviews like the old days. Don't get me wrong, I think there's way, way worse ways to spend your time than watching the AVGN. It's just... well his early reviews had charm and sincerity and now it's like he just trashes games based on movies that have had sequels/been remade and makes sure to take a shit in every video.

2600Lives, that sounds awfully like the movie, Cemetery Man. It's an Italian classic Rolfe has to have seen a time or two. Sad thing is only pretty horror fans know of it.

Please don't see him as a true reviewer.

Most of his 'reviews' aren't really reviews at all.

He's just using that as an excuse for fiddling around with a camera and in that he does a great job, I think.

His trashing always contains some humor and IMO he's doing it all tongue-in-cheek and in a very creative way.

I think that he does an excellent job with all of his reviews. It shows that he puts alot of time and effort into each one. He still reviews the games like always, he just made the video's longer with the short films that he adds into the review.

I'm looking at my old, beat up copy of Cemetary Man as we speak. Yeah, it's very similar, but hey, you know the whole thing about imitation and flattery.

The Nerd himself has said that he will take even a good game (like Simon's Quest) and exaggerate the bad parts so much that it seems like it sucks. Halloween on the 2600 IS pretty damned basic, though. One could play literally for hours and never die once (or even lose a kid, after you know what you're doing). That's not exactly challenge right there...

Very well done!!

I agree with his take on the over-rated Halloween. :D

Yep, Halloween 2600 sucks balls. At least it's couterpart TCM is fun (IMO).

Although I DO like when the game is over.....it reminds me of the movie when the music starts playing and the screen color starts shifting. Just like when the theme song is playing and the camera is shifting between the various scenes of the movie!!!

(yea right) :dunce:
