Atari 7800.com #1 Posted July 24, 2002 A month or two ago someone was posting that they had started a "company" called "AtariArts" and were calling it "the only Atari company" or something along those lines. They were coming up with new ideas for 2600 games and trying to learn how to program for the 2600. If I remember correctly, it created a little commotion. Im just curious as to whatever became of these guys and their efforts? Anyone know? Justin J. Chris++ #2 Posted July 24, 2002 It turns out that they did finally make a game. It was called Skeet Shoot. CF
Atari 7800.com #3 Posted July 24, 2002 Do they have a webpage or anything? They were a big deal for about a week and then I never heard another thing on them.
Chris++ #4 Posted July 24, 2002 Perhaps they couldn't get Stella to do anything with their GOTO or PRINT statements, so they gave up. CF
Atari 7800.com #5 Posted July 24, 2002 Either way I want these kids to contact me.
StanJr #6 Posted July 24, 2002 Last I heard, they (?) got mad and stormed off when people tried to caution them about how hard it was to program 6502 Assembly. If I recall correctly they also caused a bit of a stir over on the StellaList. I don't think they understood just what they were undertaking, and got frustrated and quit. Atari 7800.com #7 Posted July 24, 2002 Thanks Stan. I assumed that's what had happened. I had a feeling they were a group of pretty young kids. I'm not trying to pass judgement on them, I welcome anybody with enthusiasm in Atari, however they way they spoke about their efforts sounded rather juvenille. They certainly did create a commotion on the list tho. Justin
