a pal console can play both pal and ntsc (sometimes with strange colors) games

Doesn't mixing PAL,NTSC equipment also cause the vert sync on TV to roll also?

I've only found a couple of NTSC 2600 games to have a picture sync issue, 99% of them just display with wrong colours from those I've tried.

Slosu, that's funny you put that one up, because there's a store in Toms River, NJ called video game connections (with an 'S' on the end.) Here's the link

If you live in the mid-atlantic region, this place is pretty good. I've been there a few times. Nice place.

BTW, thank you, Albert, for helping me with my link creating issue. I can't believe what a dumb mistake I kept making. Thanks again. :)

The vertical rolling picture issue is strictly a cartridge vs. TV problem -- the console type has no significant effect on the speed (or number) of scanlines displayed. Most PAL TVs handle the NTSC 60 Hz frame rate just fine (but a few cartridges run at an even higher rate, which may be a tad too fast for some TVs). However, many NTSC TVs can not handle a PAL 50 Hz frame rate, which means that North Americans have a lot more problems playing PAL games than Europeans do playing NTSC games.

Does anyone know how this compares to the Digital Press store in Clifton, NJ? Bigger? Smaller? More variety?
