Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Love it or hate it).

Recommended Posts

This game just came out today. It is pretty much a culimination of the previous two Lego Star Wars titles with the following extra's.

Enhanced force powers, new power-ups, and new challenge modes.

New levels & characters that further complete the entire Star Wars Saga.

Online two-player co-op. I don't really have a gold account, but it is there who would like to play with a friend online.

I have not played this yet so I cannot weigh in on it. But I will in a later post.

Dunno about the console versions, but the DS version is much better than LSWII.

OMG! You better know it!

I got LSW2 for the DS last year, what a mess!!! Soooo many bug's and glitiches. never finished it.

So the new DS one is good, yes?

I might get the 360 version.....

My son and I have been playing it today. It's much closer in feel to the console versions.

As for the console versions... I'm sure they'll be great. I played the other two on the PC and they were a lot of fun!

I didn't know this title had online co-op!!

Crap I was going to sell my old copy of Lego Star Wars II.... I waited too long. Now this this out I'll be lucky to get $5 for the old version.

I'll probably snag this new one pretty soon. Lego Star Wars II was one of those games you hated to get to the end on because it was so well done and fun.

If your talking about the 360 version of lego star wars 2, i'll buy it off you for $10. As long as it's complete in good condition.

or I'll trade you king kong for it.

I picked it up today. I like it, but I'm a bit disappointed that the majority of the levels are re-hashes of the previous two games.

That said, I will be spending the majority of the next two days playing it like crazy. (Wisdom teeth removal.) Much better achievements & the addition of co-op will make it fun to re-play.

I am going to get this. I enjoyed LSWII and didn't play the first one. The PSP version of LSWII was nearly identical to the 360 version. Graphics were very similiar, the level layout was the same. The major differences were the extras. Each version had different extras. Never tried the DS version.

They need to stop milking this franchise.

Star Wars is probably done with this release. Next will Lego Indiana Jones and Lego Batman. :D

How many Lego Star Wars games have been released? Two? The Complete Saga seems like it is intended for someone who missed either or both of the first two games.

Lego Star Wars 2 was better than I expected. I bought it for my son to play and ended up playing as much or more than he did.

I love this game. Luckily I sold my Lego Star Wars I and II about 8 or 9 months back when I was lucky enough to have heard they were making this complete set. The co-op is really fun and highly recommend it to any type of gaming person.

Also, the graphics are a huge improvement on part 1 since I beleive part 1 was only released on the last generation consoles.

This is a great game. The 360 needs all the kid friendly games it can get, even a "1.5" version. This is a great all arounder game for kids and adults. The 360 has a strong lineup indeed.

They definitely bumped up the graphics a bit. Better textures? I've notice that the screen seems to "shimmer" when the frame rate drops. Odd. Anyways since my son was playing we kinda just hopped around from spot to spot. There is an arcade mode (aka super smash brothers style) with you can play duel or against a certain number of enemies. Two player duel was kinda boring. But I think the enemy mode is probably better.

There is also a challenge mode that opens for each chapter where you have to get all ten of the ship pieces in a certain time limit.

Have not played it much further than that. Characters (the jedi) seem to move just a teensy bit slower.

You can "build" stuff in episodes I-III and they added things to accomodate that.

My guess is Episode III has the biggest story changes since they created the original game before the movie was released.

The wilhelm scream is really in the game. I mistakenly thought it was in that last. But it is definitely there (try dying on the first chapter of episode III).

I don't really remember this but some of the characters have more combo moves. For jedi characters. You can press X, wait till move almost completes, press x again (your light saber will sparkle), and press x again quickly (your character will do a spin move and your light saber will sparkle).

Press XXA and your character will do a flip over the person in front of you and turn (while flipping to face them).

Luke skywalker. If you press the jump button twice he will do a dive jump (normal), but afterwards you can fire three quick shots from the blaster.

Here are some codes...

Target:

HHY697 - Boss Nass

INT729 - Tie Interceptor

Best Buy:

QRN714 - Captain Tarpals

AAB123 - Droid Tri-fighter

Gamestop:

EVILR2 - R2D2 with a different palette

CLZ738 - Force Grapple (allows Jedi to use grapple points)

Toys R Us:

HUT845 - Imperial Shuttle

PMN576 - General Grevious

Fry's:

GIJ989 - IG-88

BRJ437 - Disguise

Amazon.com:

KLJ897 - Jango Fett

BDC866 - Vulture Droid

If you watch the Indiana Jones trailer you can purchase Indi as a character.

Funny thing is I was thinking it'd be funny if they did something about the 'ol "Han shoots first, Greedo shoots first thing" and they did. Check out the achievement lists.

Haven't played the console versions, but the DS version is great so far, especially compared to the DS version of Lego SW 2. During LSW2, I kept wondering how it compared to the console versions...but with TCS, I don't even think about it, I'm too busy playing.

Thanks for the input on the DS version. I've yet to see any reviews on it and my wife has been asking about it. But I didn't want to purchase it considering how bad the last attempt was.

I hear though that the cut scenes are not done with the ingame engine?

IGN just posted their review. It got an 8.0. No, the cutscenes are like paper cutouts moving around. Dunno why they did it that way.
