Jaguar Hacks.

Just curious why there aren't more. It's easier than creating a homebrew.

Flaws could be ironed out. Mission packs added. Perhaps a second Jag RPG made out of the Syndicate. Towers II, or Highlander game engines?

The Jaguar is old but not ancient like other Atari systems, the copyright owners are still around and care about their IP. The Jaguar is hard to work with unlike the Dreamcast, for instance, so it takes a lot of work to do mods on existing games. Of course you would most likely have to have the source code also, and if a Jag game has not been released to the PD (public domain) then it will be hard to get the sources, since the copyright holder hasn't released it. Although, some source codes are around. Matthias Domin has done some work with the DOOM wad files, check out the videos on youtube, he goes by mdgames on there. As far as hardware hacks there have been a number of those. The Dreamcast has earned itself one of the largest homebrew communities around because it relatively easy to work with, you name it the DC's got it. There is a ton of homebrew for the DC but I don't know of any Sega authorized official releases that have been altered in gameplay.

Oh no! You're kidding right? :)

I just love the speed for this game, together with the fast music.

Good stuff!

Agreed! I have absolutely no trouble controlling and loving V.D. Skiing&Snowboarding the way it is, and I'm quite sure that anyone who thinks it would be better slower, is in the extreme minority. Besides, whatever happened to video games being a challenge? Practice makes perfect, and with video games the fun is in the practice, IMHO. There's only one thing that I think would improve the game, and that's the collision detection surrounding the trees, otherwise the game is absolutely spot on for what it is, IMHO, and even the trees don't detract that much, you learn to compensate. There are some Jaguar games that would benefit from a speed increase, but I can't think of a single one that I'd want to run slower on the Jaguar.
