Original NiGHTS into Dreams coming to PS2 (joystiq.com)

While Wii owners will soon be enjoying the first NiGHTS sequel, it looks like PS2 owners will eventually be enjoying the original. Famitsu Magazine reports that an enhanced port of the original Sega Saturn game NiGHTS into Dreams will be coming to the Playstation 2 in Japan in February of next year.

 

The PS2 version will display in 16:9 widescreen, and feature slightly improved graphics. The game will also include galleries of video, art, and stills from the marketing and production of the game.

I hope Nights into Dreams gets released outside of Japan on the ps 2.

This is probably a game in the budget series that Sega releases in Japan for the PS2 that NEVER make it out of the country. If you really want to get angry, look at what Sega has released over there for the PS2 that we'll never see.

THIS is definitely petition-worthy. For release in the US, I mean. And the petition should be a written one! Or if not written, it should at least allow scans of people's signatures, if it's going to be an online one.

I couldn't get into Nights... It bored me... Too linear... Nice graphics for a Saturn game though.

I've never played Nights, never owned a Saturn, but from Youtube footage it looks really good. I'd really like to get this update but I'm in the UK though, so I guess the chances of it being released over here are really small.

I remember the first time I saw NiGHTS was at Six Flags near Chicago. Sega had taken over an area of the park and set up several kiosks for people to play the game. The kiosks were never without players (in fact a line was at each one) and I was blown away by the game and its story. After almost an hour of standing there, I finally got my chance to play the game... AWESOME!!

 

On the way home that day, I bought my first Saturn and had a copy of NiGHTS in hand on the day it was released. I still have two copies of "Christmas NiGHT's" (one unopened) and play both versions of the game at least once a year.

 

Can't wait for the new Wii NiGHTS and hope it doesn't disappoint!

Lucky! I've been trying unsuccessfully for awhile to get a copy of Christmas Nights for under $40 off of Ebay!

I've unlocked everything in Christmas NiGHTS. There's quite a bit of stuff in there, and you get to play around with stuff from the standard game. There's also a lot of artwork to be unlocked for viewing.

 

My copy cost me $3.95 plus tax.
