Guitar Hero II

Recommended Posts

No one else will think it's much of an accomplishment, but I managed to finish Guitar Hero II on Medium tonight. Woot!

Considering how when I first got the game, I couldn't even get through a tier 1 song on Easy, that's quite a bit of improvement.

I have completed expert on GH2 (as well as five starred pretty much all but the last two sets) and hard on GH3. It is time to start expert on GH3.

Some advice... move on to hard. If you finished medium then you will be able to handle the first songs in hard. As you work through hard you will get to where you have the skills to finish it which will put you in the skill level of easily beating the first couple of sets on expert. Next thing you know you will be playing only on expert. A lot of people I know won't move up from the skill level they are comfortable with. The people I have convinced to move to the next level have been very surprised at not only their ability to play on the next skill level but also with how much they have improved by going to that next level. The ones that I can't convince aren't getting any better. Once you spend a lot of time on hard and expert, medium will feel like playing in slow motion.

I'm busy myself right now going through medium and five starring everything. I did managed to finish it, though, some time ago. I'm usually ok until I run into a song with odd timing or other weird junk. Then I just get totally out of synch.

I finished Medium fairly easily only because I played the 1st Guitar Hero to death.

Hard mode for me is just too damn fast and I get about halfway before I lose intetest.

Im looking forward to Rockband though as Im a fan of the developement team and wasnt too impressed with Guitar Hero III at all (which was handed over to a dev team under Activision)

Was their some type of falling out between Activision and Harmonix? I'm just curious. Cause rock band will let you use a GH guitar, but GH III has an update that specifically defines the RB guitar as an unsupported device.

RedOctane was bought by Activision in June while it was announced in September that Harmonix would be purchased by MTV Networks. As a result of the two purchases, Harmonix would no longer develop future games in the Guitar Hero series. Instead, developing would go to Neversoft, a subsidiary of Activision known for developing the Tony Hawk's series of skateboarding games.

In 2007, it was revealed that Harmonix was working on a new music title called Rock Band.
