Risk to burn! An "electric question" about LYNX.

On a website I have found "NEVER use a Power Supply and batteries at the same time, you will burn your lynx".

Is it a real danger? Why using batteries and adaptor should burn my atari lynx 2?

I have used many times an AC adaptor with batteries inside, and my console is still ok.

I've never heard that before and I doubt it is true. This would be an extremely poor design (I doubt even Sega would have done that :) ) and I think it is safe to say that you can use your AC adapter and keep your batteries in the Lynx console. It should, in a sense, "ignore" the batteries that are in the Lynx.
