Asteroids and Asteroids deluxe this week for 400 points...I wonder if the graphics will be enhanced...or vector...

It will have a enhanced mode as well as original modes, just like Missile Command and Centipede/Millipede have had on XBLA.

The enhanced mode is the same as the one in Atari Classics Evolved hitting the PSP on December 4th. They're developed by the same company, Stainless Games. It looks very good.

The enhanced mode looks nice. There may be a bit too much glowy shit when you blow something up, though.

The demo only lets you play one level or for one life, whichever comes first. But, it's Asteroids, so there isn't much to see.

As usual they screwed this one up. The thump, thump, sound is not present in the classic asteroids mode. It's there in deluxe. The enhanced modes are not much differnt gameplay wise except you get to shoot at radioactive asteroids that blow up goo all over the place with a radioactive ship.

No thump thump deep bass sound? Ppppffff, that was the best part of the original.

Well...its Asteroids...and I still suck at it.

Some of the Achievements are going to be damn near impossible for me.

This went from a sure buy to a no way when I tried it out and discovered that they messed up the original sound. How can that possibly happen in this day and age? Nobody tested it? Nobody asked where the original sound effects went? I can't believe it....

The original sound effects are there in classic mode...other than the bass line in original Asteroids.

Which is the one thing everyone remembers from the game. Come on, this is totally lame...

yeah, i'll save my points for Tempest, especially if they have an enhanced version that is close to Tempest 2000.

Jeff will really be crying in his beer now nobody is going to buy Space Giraffe after Tempest is released, especially a Tempest 2000 enhancement or something close to it.

I only tried the demo of Asteroids and wasn't impressed enough to purchase it. I found the explosion graphic's on Evolved to be distracting in shooting the asteroids.

Battlezone does sound interesting. But I'm sceptical about Tempest and Warlords because after playing Centipede with the 360 controller, I doubt I'll find either of these two "dedicated controller games" that enjoyable either.

It's already happened. Nobodys buying it regardless.

Warlords could be fun too.

Only if it supports that spinner on that otherwise sucky MadCatz arcade joystick, otherwise I'm having trouble seeing that going over very well. :(

Hopefully that spinner is pretty decent, is supported, and the title offers online play. Then I'll be wasting a lot of time with it. :)

I haven't played Atari Anthology...was Warlords or Tempest on there? If so, how did they play with the analog stick?

Both are on Atari Anthology. Warlords is unplayable in my opinion, though I've managed to enjoy Tempest even without the spinner.

I downloaded the demo and it was good. I found the graphics a little too tiny though - maybe it's because I'm used to standing at the arcade where everything's upclose.

Oh god..I downloaded the demo's for Asteroids and Warlords.

Warlords is unplayable and the enhanced versions of these games are annoying. Whats with the big explosions?

Missile Command is pretty good though, I bought that instead.

In fact that might the last I get.

Ummm, Warlords isn't out yet on XBLA...
