Krytol #1 Posted July 28, 2002 I found a text label Combat today that was printed on glossy black labels with solid red ink instead of the mat finsish labels with semi-metallic ink. It said "made in Taiwan" on the front. Has anyone seen these?
Krytol #2 Posted July 28, 2002 After pulling out my Combat, I realize it says Made in Taiwan as well. But the cart I came across today looked as if it was printed on Picture Label glossy stickers.

Atari2600.com #5 Posted July 30, 2002 I wrote an Article for 2600 Connection Issue 70 titled, "A Survey of CX-2601 Label Variations". In the article we provided the results of a survey we made of 263 combat carts sorted by label variation. We identifed thirteen easily recognizable Combat label variations. I can post the full article if requested, but the results of the survey can be sumarized as follows. Any Combat cart with 'Made in Taiwan' is very common accounting for 66% of all combat carts. There are some rare label types which appear less than 1 per 100. An easily identifyable rare label type is the 01 end label in red, not red and silver which is much more common. We only found three of these out of 263. We offer complete sets of all 13 CX-2601 label variations for $21.95 + shipping.
