Mike 01Hawk #1 Posted November 30, 2007 (edited) Jokes aside... lol Bought off ebay, so return to store it out of the question. Bought May of 2006. Anyway, it didn't really drown the DS, obviously, but some moisture still got into the DS somehow. I took the battery out and it looks like the moisture sticker is still okay (it shows red dots on white background, just like the new DS we got to replace it shows). I'd love to get broken DS Lite working again so I can play some 2 player games w/ teh wife Should I just try to send it into Nintendo for repair and hope they don't notice the moisture issue? Or is there a simple take apart fix I could try? When it's on, it works just fine, I was playing GBA, DS, and even wifi 2 player games, then it'll just turn off randomly. I had the same thing happen to mine (Not Cat pee, water). I have an equipment dryer that is used to dry multimeters, etc. I put it in there for an hour and it has worked perfectly for a year. Know anyone who works for the Electric, Phone, Cable Companies?
Mike 01Hawk #3 Posted November 30, 2007 No, not off the top of my head. This happened a long time ago though, I'd say at least 6 months, the broken one has just been gathering dust in the closet. I'd have thought that'd give it enough time to dry out. I'll try to leave it plugged in while testing it, maybe that'll show that the battery is crapped out, either that or just switch batteries with the working one and see if that fixes it. Recycled #4 Posted November 30, 2007 My son had his DS in his school book bag....his mom didn't screw the water bottle cap on tight enough....drenched it. At first it would only flash when turned on.....now it plays gameboy games only. He had to get a new one.
Mike 01Hawk #5 Posted November 30, 2007 (edited) I saw your thread Recycled I'd be happier if it just didn't work at all.... this teasing me with it sometimes working is quite frustrating. Edited November 30, 2007 by Mike 01Hawk
Mike 01Hawk #6 Posted November 30, 2007 -Update Issue still occurs if: 1) I play while it's plugged in 2) I play while using the battery from the 'good' DS Lite :( I think I'm SOL Any thoughts or pointers?

RickHarrisMaine #8 Posted November 30, 2007 I'd be happier if it just didn't work at all.... this teasing me with it sometimes working is quite frustrating. Any thoughts or pointers? Take a wiz on it yourself and finish the job? Do you have a dehumidifier? And a large closet? You could put the dehumidifier and the DS in the closet and close the door and let that dehumidifier suck the moisture right out. And did a cat really pee on it? Must have been a PSP cat... Mike 01Hawk #9 Posted November 30, 2007 I'd be happier if it just didn't work at all.... this teasing me with it sometimes working is quite frustrating. Any thoughts or pointers? Take a wiz on it yourself and finish the job? Rick, we have one of those papazan (I call them Papa John as in the Pizza Company) chairs in the office. You know, it's like a big sphere cut in half that rests in a wicker basket. Anyway, the DS Lite was tossed into the papazan, and we accidentally left the cat in the office with the door closed... so the cat did his thing I guess in what he thought was his litter box... and yeah, the DS was just an innocent victim
MCHufnagel #10 Posted November 30, 2007 As far as cats are concerned, their evil knows no bounds! I would have tried out my football field goal kicking skills on the thing. If I missed the first kick, I would have tried another attempt! . . . . . JUST KIDDING!
pmpddytim #11 Posted November 30, 2007 If you decide to get rid of it give me a pm. I have one with a bad touch screen and I could use the parts. -T
