Classic games. How about a paddle please...

Recommended Posts

Ok. Thats it. I'm done.

I'm not ever buying another compilation or downloading another classic arcade title again unless SOMEONE out there makes appropriate hardware (controller) to play it with or bundle it with.

I love the way the little joystick with a ball symbol is on XBOXLIVE sometimes and I think to myself....theres no joystick out there like that to play the games with. Idiots.

Warlords, Breakout? Give me a godamn paddle so I can play the damn game.

Atari 2600 collections? Give me an Atari joystick to play them with.

WTF?! I'm tired of it.

Reminds me of the really nice Atari Anthology and Activision Anthologies released a few years back. Only that all the paddle games are pretty much unplayable. The joystick games are less than heartwarming either. What are these people thinking? We never got an Activision sequel either....

I even sent an email to Major Nelson (Microsoft). Not that it will get read.

Hopefully Im not the only one who feels this way.

Your thoughts please....

By the way, I read that a japanese company, is it Taito?...Is bringing Arkanoid to the DS with a Paddle controller bundled with it.

I bow and thank these highly intelligent folks for simply giving us something we can play their game with.

End Rant.

It's a wonder they build these current gen consoles with 3 sticks. A better idea would be 1 digi, 1 analog, and a trackball.

You can get mouse substitute trackballs and the ball is about an inch diameter.

No reason not to make one integrated into a controller, with the ball a little smaller.

Then, it would work great with Breakout type games, as well as FPS games.

I know...is it so much to ask?

I mean, they planned on giving us all these arcade games to download and I just cant see why a little trackball or anything could have been built into the current joystick.

Not including the Madcatz travesty of a joystick......I know if a controller is done right it can sell.

Then again, if they go by the sales figures of the Madcatz we may never see anything done.

The sad truth of the matter is that only a mere small percentage of people would care about having the features you requested on a modern controller. Sure, it would help play Atari games better, but that is just a fraction of the user base of what the 360 can do. Extra controller add ons add price to an already competitive market. I agree with you, it would be nice...but alas the atari fans are a dying breed.....
