I'll second Val D'Isere Skiing - play it long enough to get a good feel for the controls and you'll probably have a lot of fun with it! (I haven't played Defender 2000, so I don't have an opinion on it yet)
Brian R. #6 Posted December 2, 2007 Val... whatever looks good, and you can have some fun with it. But once you realize it cheats like a little bitch, you'll grow tired of it. I was never good at any Defender games. Fight for Life just blows.
ls650 #7 Posted December 2, 2007 Opinions vary widely on Atari Karts. Personally I think it's one of the best games for the Jaguar - I enjoy most everything about it. Gameplay, graphics, music - I fire this cart up regularly and take it for a spin.

Brian R. #12 Posted December 2, 2007 Atari Karts is good, but shallow. There's not much to it. The tracks are just small loops. Backgrounds are very nice. Characters are neat. But I got to I think the final series of races and couldn't win any of them, the difficulty for me was just too much. A common complaint with Atari Karts - besides the price - is that you can get "hung up" on corners in the tracks often and easily. But it is an enjoyable game. I did not care for Atari Karts for all the reasons you just mentioned. I thought the tracks were pretty basic and I hated getting stuck on corners. If not for that I would have loved it, the game has a charm to it.

kevincal #23 Posted December 4, 2007 I've never played Attack of the Mutant Penguins. But I used to religeously read Gamefan in the 90's, and they had nothing but good things to say about it and iirc, they gave it a score of atleast 80%. They were one of the only magazines who generally gave the Jaguar a fair shake... I tend to like simpler games though, so I'm not sure if I'd like it. I couldn't figure out Baldies very well at all. As for Atari Karts. It is a very decent game. When hooked up through S-video, the 2d graphics really shine. Lots of colors, detail and parallax scrolling. The music is a bit odd, but the sound quality is good. The only thing is this game's gameplay should have been polished a bit more. The getting stuck on the walls really does suck and can be irritating to the point of wanting to just power off your Jaguar. The carts also don't turn worth a damn for the most part! Even using a Pro Controller and the shoulder buttons for sharp turns, a lot of the turns are just too sharp. It would have been much better if the carts had a better turning radius. But still, there is good fun to be had. Oh , I forgot to mention the bumper car effect the karts have. When you hit another kart, it's almost like carts have springs on their outside, as after you touch another cart, you are rebounded violently. It is a fun game besides these things though. I'd rate it 80%

kevincal #25 Posted December 4, 2007 Ya the music was pretty good. Just kind of didn't fit the cutesy theme of Atari Karts though. Like the opening song sounds all creepy. lol.
