I have the same problems with mutant penguins. I can't get past the first level, and I've read the manual, and tried everything but whatever is supposed to work. Oh well.

Hopefully Kevincal won't think I'm stepping on his toes once again, but here it goes: The main objective, as I recall, is to keep the penguins from getting to the "Doom Scale(s)" by wacking them with weaopns and/or powers and by detouring them using other ingame methods like directional arrows and other devices. It was a bit hard at first for me too, even after reading the instructions, but once you get the jist of it all, the game is very fun and addicting and won't seem nearly as difficult.

Oh no, you'll still dig it up for us, you after all, said you would............... :rolling:

I guess I will try again, but I am pretty sure I have tried to keep them for getting to the scale with absolute no luck.

Perhaps someone could throw up a vid of the first level being completed?? :?: :?: :lust:

Ya, Mutant Penguins needs its own Youtube vid for sure. ;) I think you can see it in action in one of the Jag game compilations on Youtube though.

It's really not that hard but quite confusing at start. I had great fun with this game and only wished that it would have ingame music (can't understand the lack of it, but it has very funny sound effects so makes up somehow) and more levels...but there is always the higher difficulty mode and the second character which is weaker in my book...ng

So here it goes:

You start with nothing and have to collect the little blue furry "animals". Which these things you can activate traps which kill the mutant penguins and give you extras like bombs or glue. But much more important is that the blue things alow you opben the chests which contain letters. Once you have collected the letters P A N you get, wow, a pan, and that is where the fun begins. With this pan you can hit the enemies. When hit they loose some blinking ball things which you must collect to charge your pan. Once it is charged and blinking you can kill the penguins for some amount of time. When empty you have to recharge it again. If it is fully charged, you can throw it like a boomerang.

In some levels there also friendly penguins which will help you if you release them.

I highly recoomend this game to anyone to try it out. There is very much fun hidden in that little game.

Have fun

Don't know how to make a video, otherwise I would....

Thanks Peter :) But, I still got a problem. I do all this and still that machine thing spins around and then kaboom! my game is over, at level one!

So how do I stop this from happening?

:) I tried it again last night and I still suck!

Don't you hate when games start out too hard or too confusing? That always irritates the hell out of me...

Ok let's see...

You lose because the bad penguins overweight the good ones, so now that you know the general mechanics here is what you have to do to complete the first level

Collect the blue thingys in sight do not put all in the same chest at once.

There is a lever(sp? well a switch) switch it, that will direct the penguins on a longer way past a trap that you will have to activate later.

In one of the chests you will find a samurai sword which you can use for a limited time to kill the bad guys.

Don't kill the good penguins because the fight the bad ones ( gains you time)

Try to get the pan as fast as possible and activate all traps you find and then head back to the mouth of the machine and kill every alien that tries to get inside.

That way, I always finished that first level.

Once you get the hang of things you develop other strategies needed for the later levels...

Good luck penguin slasher ;-)

keep in mind that you can let some penguins slip as long as the balance is still in balance.

You start out with a few penguins on your side and can gain more with the bonus games in between levels...

Ok I can understand that although it is really not that hard. You should try again.

Let's see....

I have a Jaguar, a Catbox, cables and a Laptop.

How can I "record" what I do on the jag? Or do I need some special screencapture stuff?

Given some help I might make a video of that first level

I DID IT :) Ok this is WHY I think you and me have been so rubbish at this!

There is a machine that you need to build, with the help of the little blue thingies. Near the right of the screen (if that makes any sense).

I think you mean the traps. they kill of some of the penguins.

That other machine you don't have anything to do with. It just transforms disguided penguins back to their alien form.

I think you can beat the level on easy even without using the traps but it makes your life a whole lot easier and cuts you from killing even more penguins while giving you time to search for the pan
