NinjaWarrior #1 Posted December 14, 2007 I just want to know my Xbox didn't want to come on tonight..I was about to play some retro gaming...I got the old model with the plug when you press red reset & a yellow test button..No Light came on, when I pressed the reset button..it pops back up..I'm going to take it to Gamecrazy on Monday..I'm not going to take a chance trying to turn it on
vrocko #2 Posted December 15, 2007 Hey NinjaWarrior, I had mine do the same thing. You can call Microsoft and they will send you a new plug for it free of charge, at least mine was. My Xbox was purchased on the same day it was launched so I would say they should do the same for you. Call them and find out. Rich, Vrocko
ckrtech #3 Posted December 16, 2007 Those replacement cables - the newer ones with the test button and reset switch - are pretty finicky. You said you have an old model, but an old model would have a standard cable instead of the one with the reset switch. You could try hitting up the xbox website, punch in your serial number and request a replacement. If your serial number is already in their system for a replacement, you'll probably have to pay for one. I really dislike the replacement cable as it trips often - be it plugged into a power strip or connected to a UPS. I ended up using my original fire hazard cable once again.
