Robotron: 2084 How far have you got?

I got a quickshot joystick the other day and it made a difference. I made it to level 15 and got 292,000 points. Novice level of course. I'm so glad I got past levell 11. It will wear your joystick out! How about you?

With a regular 2600 stick, I've broken one million on Novice, several times. Think I've made up to Wave 40 or so.

with a friend of mine, we combined and kicked some ass, breaking 2,000,000. Alone, I have came near a mil before. Awsome game. Awsome version of the game. I recommend anyone to play it with a friend.

I think I've been around level 20, I seem to remember seeing at least 4 different brain levels (on intermediate)

I've got to level 8 on the hardest setting. I was using a single wireless joystick and I nearly broke the thing in half just by playing.

 

I don't play this game much, but maybe I should bust it out for a while.

Back when I was playing it, I was getting a little over 600K. Then I had one game where I got 1.2 million points.

 

FWIW, I was probably using a Wico Command Control. And I was a heathen for playing it in one-stick mode.

I came so close to breaking 1,000,000 on this game once. i scored like 999,920 (or something).

 

personally, I have found that a Suncom Tac-2 joystick works VERY well for this game. Very short throw distance, and very accurate (hence the name, TAC= Totally accurate controller).

 

BTW, i think this game for the 7800 is an awesome port.

I got to wave 39 once on the novice skill level, and i can get to wave 5 on the challenge mode. This game is a lot easier using a SEGA genesis controller.

Shoot, I played with two joysticks and went on and on and on. I probably played for an hour and a half before I had to go.

Level 40 or so with my Dual Wico joystick arcade panel. 2707575 on Intermediate. I only got 1283275 million on novice. I got 41625 on Challenge.

I have already added 2 buttons for the 2nd player. I just have to clean the leaf switches every once in a while. This is the game that I load up if I want to wind down from the day. I usually get about to level 15 and just stop. Using a dual joystick is the only way to rack up the points.

I didn't know what i was missing out on using one controller to play Robotron. I always said to myself "i'm too clumsy to use 2 prolines at the same time." But i finally decided to try it out, and WOW! Robotron is so much better with 2 prolines.

It took awhile to get used to playing it this way. I started out on novice, i got to wave 34.

I'll have to try intermediate next.
