stirrell
This is probably a strange choice, but I probably spent the most time playing Micro League Baseball on my Atari. If you were a baseball fan, nothing was better. With the General Manager's disk, I believe, you could type in new stats for teams. Me and my friend would labor over typing in new stats from our baseball cards :-). With the Box Score and Stat Compiler Disc, you could actually have a season with your team. I also loved Telengard - that was a game that made me really beg my parents for an Atari computer. I got it on cassette drive and used it with my 600XL :-). Of course, all of the Atari carts were good too - Pac Man was great, Missile Command, Donkey Kong... their arcade ports were great. I also LOVED Star Raiders when I was younger. It was one of those games that I couldn't believe was black and white years later. It always seem so vivid and cast and exciting.
