Colecovision Arcade-Style Controller - FOR SALE!

Recommended Posts

Colecovision Arcade-Style Controller - FOR SALE!

Information about the controller:

Assembled purely by myself from Industry quality arcade parts. The joystick is a Sanwa and can be changed between 4way and 8way. The controller can be used for all colecovision games that require 2 button operation. Games that use the numberpad are not compatible with this controller. This controller circuitry is based on the standard colecovision controller and I'm lead to believe that it might work with the atari 2600 and even the Sega Genesis / Mega-Drive, but have not tested this myself so can not gurrantee it. The cable is straight and approximately 1.5 metres (5 feet) long.

More information about the specific features of this controller can be found here:

Sale Terms:

I will be taking bids for my Arcade Style Colecovision Controller. Please private message me with your bid (dont post on this forum). I will be accepting bids until 6:30pm Melbourne Time 21st December. I will not be accepting bids under 80 AUD (approx 70 USD) as this amount wouldnt even cover the materials used to make it (excluding the countless hours of assembly involved).

If you are bidding from the US, please also take into account this item is located in Melbourne Australia and will cost approximately (and only PURELY approximately) 50-60 AUD. If no bids are received that I deem reasonable, i will be listing the arcade controller on ebay.

There is ONLY ONE of these available. I will not be able to assemble any more of these due to problems getting more components. There are only 2 of these in the world. The one that I'm keeping for myself (because its just so good! :-) and the one for sale here.

Good luck, and thanks for viewing!

Beg my pardon I was looking for something heavier.

Just kidding. That looks awesome. Good luck with the sale of it!

Thanks ianoid :)

Yeah it is pretty heavy, being constructed of thick MDF. The Joystick is also quite heavy too, weighing in around 300-400grams. Its SOLID ;)

But thats ok because i wanted to make something that could withstand alot of punishment. It has an arcade feel to it when you use it, which tends to lead to alot of bashing and thrusting.

Auction ended.

Unfortunately, this auction hasnt recieved enough interest, i think mainly because of the postage cost, so the controller has not been sold. Which is a shame, as it really is a great controller!

However, I will be upgrading this controller to have 4 extra buttons across the top of the 2 main fire buttons, representing the numbers 1-4 on the colecovision number pad and most likely listing it on ebay australia. I will be open to offers until it is listed on ebay, which i'm not sure exactly when, maybe a week or 2.

Thank you all for your encouragement and kind words about the controller.

I'd also like to say a special thanks to Double Down, who helped me with a problem i was having with the DB9 cable. Cheers mate.

Hi everyone,

Ive had a few enquiries about how to make one of these controllers and i've recently decided to knock up a small website about it. I've tried to include as much information as possible to help those that are making a project like mine, or of their own design.

Hope this helps, and thanks for checking it out!
