I haven't snagged this game yet suprisingly. I always liked the game in the arcades, but I don't think it translate well using modern controllers. I'll have to try out the demo.

I actually found that it translated pretty well. You can really get moving when using the joystick.

I think this is one I didn't even bother downloading the demo for. Track & Field is just a game I never "got." I remember people acting like it was just some kind of incredible game and blowing quarter after quarter on it. I just thought it was lame. It was also extrodinarily high maintenance. And the games it inspired (like Decathon) became legendary for destroying controllers.

 

I do like how Konami remixes the graphics of the games just a bit, and leaves the gameplay intact. Atari should have followed their blueprint a bit closer.

The thought of destroying a controller did come to mind. The left stick takes a pounding in this game.
