Atari Projects + More - Atari Touch Me Photos/Vid other A8 items arrive...

Recommended Posts

For whatever reason I decided to get myself an Atari Touch Me (once again). Man this thing was really dirty when I got it... I was almost shocked compared to the picture I had seen on eBay. Anyways, I cleaned it up and it turned out really nice... although I screwed up the buttons themselves I think slightly... decolouring , eh.... anyways... my love for taking pictures:

Video playing the 8 sequence skill level:

I got my 1050 and 1030 in the mail the other day. Only now have I had the time to sit down and get it hooked up. I was feeling rather pushed back when the 1050 wasn't reading the dos disk and giving me a slow beep and boot error. After the 3rd time and much slow beeping, it finally loaded into dos. I formatted a disk... (first one failed) so I tried another newer disk and it formatted it. Copied the Dos 2.5 disk and after I rebooted it seemed to be ok. Still has me wondering how long this drive will last though.... when I take it apart I'll give the head a decent cleaning perhaps or at least make sure everything is in proper looking order since something could have jiggled around while shipped on the way here.

The 1084 is currently outside undergoing surgery.... white paint. Pain in the ass it is.....but it'll be worth it. Time will come for the 1050 to get it as well as the 1030.

I'm having unclear thoughts with what I should use the 1030 for. At first I was going to house a laptop drive to access files from but I dont like the idea of not using my floppy drive regularly. Since it IS a modem (communications device) I figured I could possibly gut it and put in some sort of ethernet controller so I could get some general internet access / e-mail usage with it. Possibly even download some games if I can through the internet.

I know I need an SIO2PC or PC2SIO (drive write) and program but haven't had much time to look into it and I've already spent too much money on A8 things in the last month. I need some games on floppy to hold me over..........

I am happy with the condition the 1050 was in though... and the silver panel still had the plastic protective covering still on it.
