Got a problem with a Model 1 Sega Genesis

Recommended Posts

I just put separate audio and video ports on one of my three Model 1 Sega Genesis systems because I don't have the A/V cables for the system and its RF unit is broken. Now, I can get a video signal, I can see the "Produced by on under license from Sega Enterprises LTD.", but then, black screen. I don't have a damn clue what the hell's going on. I know the game's functional(Ayrton Senna's Super Monaco GP II), but why won't it work? I don't even get any audio, not from the audio jacks and not from the headphone jack either. Any fix for that? It's the earliest Genesis with "High Definition Graphics" on top of the cartridge slot. By the way, as if this affects anything, I also broke one of the wires that powers the LED. Not sure if this might cause a problem with the system besides a non-functional power light.
