kroogur #1 Posted December 25, 2007 I recently acquired a Commodore Vic20 and quite frankly it looks like a zombie drug it out of the grave with it yellowed from years of rotting in a chain smokers home, dirt and dust in all the crevasses it's hideous. I cleaned it up a good bit with Lysol wipes but it still needs help so i will try this: Denture Cleaner w/baking soda I will post the before and after pics hopefully this will work well! kroogur #3 Posted March 13, 2008 Okay the bargain denture cleanser and the name brand did nothing much, so i brought Billy Mays up to bat and used a bucket full of hot water and 2 scoops of OxyClean and well what do you all think? I did a 50/50 for a better comparison and this Vic20 came from a heavy chain smoking home and the case had the usual yellowing in addition to the tobacco residue i let it soak for 24 hours and lightly used a nylon scrub pad to help it get cleaner. I did use rubber gloves and made sure to rinse thoroughly (always follow the safety instructions on the product) There is still a slight yellow tinge but it is much better! Ghost Soldier #5 Posted March 13, 2008 Looks like it came out really good. I'll have to use your method for some of the yellowed things I have laying around.

+Psionic #7 Posted March 13, 2008 Thanks. Im going to try it on one of my Super Nintendo's next. People have done similar things using bleach on yellowed PC Engine systems. It works, but in most cases the plastic will eventually yellow again even if you really take steps to prevent it. It's just the nature of the plastic.
