NE146 #26 Posted December 27, 2007 I had to think about it.. but the times that always seem to stand out in my mind were the "5200 Christmases" where I got Joust, Space Dungeon, and others for the 5200 and spent the next couple of months playing them. If you remember, those games were absolutely AMAZING in their time and playing them on a shiny 5200 on a larger tv was all high tech and stuff Ahhh yeah. 8bitgamer #27 Posted December 30, 2007 This year I got Guitar Hero III for the Wii. Second. Best. Present. Ever. (next to the aforementioned ColecoVision in 82).
opeygon #28 Posted December 31, 2007 to many to mention, but the one that stands out the most? my first NES, christmas day 1986
DrLove0378 #29 Posted January 3, 2008 1991: A new SNES. I still own and use that very same console, and still have its retail box and all that. The price tag, still on it, reads $197.87 -- that would be about $296 in 2007 dollars. It certainly brings back memories of the days when the only thing I really had to worry about, was the next game I was going to rent and play the shit out of. Believe it or not, the SNES will soon be 20 years old... damn, how time has flown! 1997: An N64, and GoldenEye 007. ($70 for the game, ouch!) 2006: An X-Arcade Dual Joystick. I certainly am getting a hell of a lot of use out of it...
telengard #30 Posted January 3, 2008 No doubt about it, my Atari 2600, I believe it was Christmas 1981. I got a 2600, Asteroids, and a clunky color TV (had a B&W TV for a long time). My cousins also got a 2600 that year but got Missile Command and Space Invaders. I played the death out of that thing going through at least 2 or 3 power adapters. ~telengard
Lemmi #31 Posted January 3, 2008 getting the 2600 for christmas when it first came out.then 5 years later getting the 7800 when it first came out how is that possible? more than 5 years passed between those 2 systems comming out 1978 - my first store bought bike and not a pieced together clunker (looking back the clunkers were built better than the store bought one, the one from the store turned into a chopper when the welding busted around the forks) 1982 -- my first 2600 system 1989 -- my first CD player but 6 months later it broke and i only had 3 CDs and didnt play them that much and it still broke

Atarifever #33 Posted January 3, 2008 Tough decision. I'll go with this year. I brought home the Wii and my parents ended up addicted to it. I played a lot of hours of it with them, my wife, and our friends. Me and my father played Wiisports Golf until well past midnight on my last night home, despite my having to get up at 6:00. Also, I got surround sound finally, and bought a new car. So that's all pretty good stuff.
