+remowilliams #2 Posted December 28, 2007 Is that supposed to be Ronald Reagan and Richard Simmons on the title screen?. I think that's Ron and Nancy Reagan. And a Kangaroo and the Pope if I recall.
+HammR25 #3 Posted December 28, 2007 The game is horrible. It doesn't really matter if you read the instructions.
Rik #4 Posted December 28, 2007 The game is horrible. It doesn't really matter if you read the instructions. Yeah, thats what i thought.
DracIsBack #5 Posted December 28, 2007 Eww - definitely one of the worst games on the 7800. I don't really like it on any platform, really. I thought the graphics were cool, but the game was as fun as watching paint dry.
7800Lover #6 Posted December 28, 2007 It's not a bad game and the only boxing title on the 7800, but it's still an embarassment next to Punch-Out (both the arcade and NES adaptation).
+remowilliams #7 Posted December 28, 2007 I actually played Fight Night quite a bit back in the Atari 8bit days. The 7800 version is insanely fast to those of us who played it on the A8 though.
shadow460 #8 Posted December 29, 2007 From what I understand, the paper they made Fight Night's box with is worth more than the cart itself. I have the whole thing CIB, and it has stayed right where it was. It failed to persuade me to play it, so I didn't.
Rik #9 Posted December 29, 2007 (edited) Thats okay if the game is bad.I really got it for collectors status anyway.Im glad i got it.Its really not all that bad though really, imo.People often compare it to nes mike tyson's punchout, unfair comparison, but still compared to most boxing games, yeah, its pretty horrid.I found the instructions squashed down in the bottom of box, didnt see them the 1st time. The insructions even dont make sense at all! 7800Lover #10 Posted December 29, 2007 It's a shame that Activision Boxing for the 2600 is better than this game.
roadrunner #11 Posted December 18, 2008 I use a SEGA genesis controller when i play Fight Night. The sparring matches are fun. Mike Bison can kick some serious ass.
Greg2600 #12 Posted December 20, 2008 Fight Night is my vote for the worst console game of the 1980's that I have personally played. Ikari Warriors II on NES is second.
AtariLeaf #13 Posted December 20, 2008 I have the 8-bit version. Played it for all of 30 seconds. Its now back in the 8-bit drawer where it will stay.
roadrunner #14 Posted December 21, 2008 I always start the main event as Crazy Craven for some unknown reason.
MrFish #15 Posted December 21, 2008 (edited) I actually played Fight Night quite a bit back in the Atari 8bit days. The 7800 version is insanely fast to those of us who played it on the A8 though. I played it a lot too, back in the day, and had quite a bit of fun with it. I think a lot of the enjoyment on the 8-bit computer version came from "Boxing Construction" module. Fun to see what kind of weird looking boxers you could come up with, and then put them to the test. In the 8-bit version, you actually had to construct your own boxer in order to compete in the sparring sessions. xZanU #16 Posted December 21, 2008 Hello people.I just got Fight Night for my 7800. But why? I thought I'd enjoy the 7800 version but I did not. I had it for the XE and had fun with that, but the 7800 seemed even worse at control of the boxer (if that is possible). The character were fun, but I just could not get past the lack of responsiveness.

Why?like i said above, for collectors status,it was boxed, plus i like to judge for myself what is bad and what is good. The responsiveness is bad,but its not the worse game ive seen. roadrunner #18 Posted January 2, 2009 I finally won the Main Event. I KO'D the Bronx Bomber in the final match. The belt was awarded to Crazy Craven Champion Of The World I didn't think i would ever be able to beat the Bronx Bomber. It would be nice if i could start the Main Event with a different boxer instead of Crazy Craven. My fingers are a little sore, but i'm happy that i won the Main Event. Did anybody else here ever win the Main Event?
+HammR25 #19 Posted January 2, 2009 I don't remember if I ever beat the Bronx Bomber. I haven't played the game in 20 years. It was the only 7800 game I regretted buying at the time.
