+doctorclu #2 Posted December 30, 2007 What games can best entertain a crowd, and maybe win over a few skeptics? Love this! Ok, Tempest 2K, networked Doom (though it has problems still fun) Networked Battlesphere (if you can swing that), Raiden <--- , Kasumi Ninja, Club Drive, Brutal Sports Football <---- ... And then beyond that, there are those that I have not tried so much, like Total Carnage should be a lot of fun (that is simo two player, Ultra Vortek, Power Drive Rally, etc etc I have had hours of fun with the ones I listed though. Agent X #4 Posted December 30, 2007 The Jaguar's not really very well suited as a "party" system compared to most others out there. That said, if you're going to fire up the Big Black Cat for a group of people, there are still some choices out there. If you want to get several people playing at the same time, then break out the Team Tap and four controllers so you can play NBA Jam Tournament Edition or White Men Can't Jump. Pinball games like Pinball Fantasies or Ruiner Pinball are fun with lots of people taking turns. I'd also suggest a good fighting game like Ultra Vortek or Primal Rage. Beyond that, some miscellaneous games I'd recommend are Vid Grid, Zoop, Power Drive Rally, and of course Tempest 2000. When you're done gaming, toss some music CDs into your Jaguar CD and let the Virtual Light Machine work its magic.

BuddyBuddies #6 Posted December 30, 2007 i like to show off Supercross 3D,its so cool! people get hooked once they pick up that controller!
RJ #7 Posted December 30, 2007 (edited) Whoa- you're kidding, right? I'm guessing these people have never seen or played ANY OTHER video game, thereby having nothing on which to base a mental comparison? Of all the Jag games I'd be embarassed to show off, SuperCross is probably in the top 3. Edited December 30, 2007 by RJ

+doctorclu #9 Posted December 30, 2007 No party for the Bubster? The Bubster is a great way to entertain kids, thus the reason I am so good at Bubsy. (I reach level 14 in one game sitting these days.)
RJ #10 Posted December 30, 2007 (edited) supercross 3d...checkered flag...club drive that may be the top 3 right there! However, of the 3, I only own Supercross. I was under the impression it wasnt going to be released, so I snagged it when I saw it in the store yrs ago. I agree, it's not a HORRIBLE game, but people get hooked...? DracIsBack #15 Posted December 30, 2007 It's been a while since I've actually used the Jaguar as a "party" system ... probably since 1998. Back then, though, the games people dug the most were: 1. NBA Jam TE - four players and a brand name that many new 2. Alien Vs. Predator - only one player but everyone else liked watching one guy flail when shocked. 3. Tempest 2000 - The two player mode got lots of laughs 4. Atari Karts - Yeah - a blatant ripoff, but people knew how to play. 5. Primal Rage - combat games were big and this was probably the best of the bad fighters. 6. Super Burnout - I never got into it, but for some reason my friends did. Agent X #17 Posted December 31, 2007 Ah yes, I don't have the Jaguar version of Worms myself, so I didn't immediately think of that. If you happen to have it (on just about any system), then it is an excellent party game!
ovalbugmann #18 Posted December 31, 2007 Well,.....If your a millionaire, a wealthy financier, or just well off and have thousands upon thousands to play with, you could set up a 16 station BattleSphere network and 32 people could play at one time on that setup. Of course you would need 16 BattleSphere carts, 16 televisions, 16 Jaguar base units, and 32 controllers. . . . . . . Just kidding!

ovalbugmann #20 Posted January 1, 2008 (edited) but you are forgetting the catboxes and/or scatboxes (very vital for the networking buddy!).... what kind of person is crazy enough to attempt this! I only know of one person crazy enuff.......... hehe! Doug and Scott, I'm sure have had a 16 station BattleSphere network going at one time, during their work on the game. They had/have access to 16 BS carts & 16 Scatboxes. They had to make sure such a big network would actually work, during development. Yes, I forgot to add 16 linking devices, Scatboxes or Catboxes. But you know,... I wonder if the Jaglink 2 would work. Derek "Else" who made them tested them on BattleSphere specifically, I believe he had a 3 or 4 BS network going on during his Jaglink 2 development, it's probably still on his "else engineering" website. The Jaglink 2 is made to daisy chain 3 or more Jaguars using regular Jaglinks as the actual hookup. We should ask TBird or Derek (he's here on AA) about it. Have you considered this?, because it would be a lot cheaper than Cat/scat boxes. Would be interesting to know this. Have a very Happy New Year's Eve buddy. ovalbugmann #21 Posted January 1, 2008 (edited) BB: Hey, Haven't talked to Derek or Doug about it yet, but I checked out those Jaglink 2s and they apparently can, indeed, successfully link up and I quote; "2 to N Jaguars." They are NOW available from the Atariage.com store for $30 + shipping. AA was out of them for awhile. I bought two of them, previously. Check out Derek's site where it shows BattleSphere running on a three Jag network using Jaglink 2s and visit the Atariage store for availability. http://home.comcast.net/~delse/jaglink2.html Jaglink 2s at the Atariage store! +doctorclu #23 Posted January 2, 2008 The Jaglink 2 works with Battlesphere to a point. About 95% well, though there are hangups. But hey, with Scatboxs and Catboxs being as rare and costly as they are, I am very glad for the Jaglink 2 solution.
