Quick Question on shipping time

Recommended Posts

I won an item on ebay on dec 20th paid on the 21st and have yet to see said item it was allegedly sent "Standard Flat Rate Shipping Service" (whatever that means) and it has still not arrived i figured extra time an all due to the holidays but things i ordered before and during the holidays have already shown up.

I sent a polite query last evening as to the status of my package and am awaiting a reply, the seller has 100% feedback and i dont think Wisconsin to Pennsylvania should take quite this long unless that method of shipping utilizes horse and buggy?

So what is "Standard Flat Rate Shipping Service" and does anyone use it?

If it isn't here by January 21st I'd start getting concerned. Packages are taking a long time to arrive lately.

Most sellers that use the slow as shit Media Mail don't select it. They will use the Standard Shipping label.

Media Mail can run 2-4 weeks.

Cool thanks! I sell every now an then on ebay and i usually ship either priority or use UPS as i know folks like to get their newly acquired treasures quickly.

From now on i'll make sure to request a better ship method.

Standard Flat Rate Shipping Service does not specify how the item will be shipped. The seller can select whatever method they choose. Many confuse this with the 'Flat Rate Priority Mail' boxes, but they are not the same.

Basically eBay allows sellers to specify the shipping charge without specifying how the item will be shipped. I never bid on these auctions without emailing the seller to find out how the item will be shipped.
