so_tough! #1 Posted January 5, 2008 Anyone know any good links ? I'm especially interested in the cd-32, as I just bought one very cheap off ebay
Jess Ragan #2 Posted January 5, 2008 This is the only one that comes immediately to mind... http://www.sleepingelephant.com/denial/ Not quite the community you're looking for, but it's a good one. As for the CD-32, I hate that stupid thing! I've never found an adequate power supply for it (although it hasn't been for lack of trying...), and I'll be spammed if I'm going to pay a fortune for the ones offered on eBay for a small fortune. It's a great little machine. Just get a 4 pin DIN plug and wire a little PC power supply up if you can't get the power brick.
so_tough! #4 Posted January 5, 2008 Remo, what games would you recommend?
accousticguitar #5 Posted January 5, 2008 A friend of mine grew up with a Commodore 64 and he still has it, so I was looking for a website similar to AtariAge that focused on Commodore computers. I didn't find one. It seems like Atari has much more support online than the Commodore does, probably because Atari had the gaming platforms and Commodore had none. Garak #7 Posted January 5, 2008 It seems like Atari has much more support online than the Commodore does Not really, below is a small sampling of either forum, download, or both in one sites off the top of my head: Any Commodore 8-bit: PETSCII Forums http://www.commodore.ca comp.sys.cbm (Usenet) comp.emulators.cbm (Usenet) alt.c64 (Usenet) C64: Lemon64 Gamebase64 VIC 20: Denial Gamebase Vic 20 C16/Plus 4: Plus/4 World Commodore 16 Amiga: Lemon Amiga http://amiga.org C128: Commodore 128 Alive The CD32 info would most likely be found in the Amiga sites. Not an Amiga person myself so my knowledge of those things are limited. probably because Atari had the gaming platforms and Commodore had none. Oh, we had a gaming platform or two see The Secret Weapons of Commodore site.
thomasholzer #8 Posted January 5, 2008 (edited) Secret Weapons :-) Commodore TV Game 2000K, yep I got one of those secret weapons: Anyway, loads of CD32 games on UK ebay. I recommend: Alfred Chicken, The Labyrinth of Time, Gunship 2000, Pirates, D-Generation, Simon the Sorcerer, Whale's Voyage...all compentent titles. here's another good C64 site, plug for Mayhem: http://www.mayhem64.co.uk/ good for C64 carts Edited January 5, 2008 by thomasholzer
thomasholzer #10 Posted January 6, 2008 thing is, CD32 got loads of Amiga conversions, so if it's a good game on Amiga, its also a good game on CD32.
so_tough! #11 Posted January 6, 2008 I know I never had an Amiga, right now I'm like a kid in a candy store. All the things I never had as a child, are now all for my picking! I'm not interested in new systems , so I have lots of money to spend on old ones Its nice Should be Here tomorrow, or Tuesday at the latest.
+remowilliams #12 Posted January 6, 2008 I know I never had an Amiga, right now I'm like a kid in a candy store. Well you might want to look for the Amiga compilation CDs that people put together for the CD32. CD32 CD100,CD200,CD350,CD444, and even CD888 that I know of. You can guess what those numbers represent.
