Segataritensoftii #1 Posted January 6, 2008 Fly Tales: For this game, it would probably have to be 3D and cell shaded. To capture the feel of being a tiny fly in a house, the flight controls would probably be descent style, only moving forward would be quicker. It would be in the first person, and there would be a lot of things to do in the various locations, including lots of side quests. However, there would be no main quest. The game would be more about exploration and experimentation. For example, you could run on the radio dial to change the music in-game, or pick up various objects in a lab and put them in the cloning machine to make four copies of them. As for the side quests, you wouldn't have to finish them, except if you wanted 100%. The characters would still speak in the same babble like in the show, although there would now be text boxes to show what they were saying. The characters in the game would be where you get most of your quests, but you can also get certain abilities from them as well. For example, talking to the life guard will open up a minigame where you can learn to swim. It could actually be a very good game, although it would be very hard to make. Care to share you're ideas about movie/TV show to game transitions? You can do a movie or show that got a sucky transition or transitions to games, because lord knows there are a lot of them. Inky #2 Posted January 6, 2008 A couple years ago, I started hacking Pigs in Space into Aqua Teen HUnger Force: Mooninite's Revenge. For some reason I got tired of it and let the project to rot, despite the fact that I had some pretty kick ass sprites of Ignignokt, Err, and MAster Shake. Pixelboy #3 Posted January 6, 2008 I'd do a game based on Knight Rider that would be actually worth playing. Same goes for the A-Team. And E.T.

Vic George 2K3 #5 Posted January 6, 2008 I used to imagine a TRON game made for the 16-bit game systems that would go level by level through the various scenarios of the movie, though it would have to take certain liberties here and there to make it playable. You start off as Flynn, with the break-in into ENCOM to reach Laura's computer terminal, then you get zapped into the System and (purposely) have to reach the Game Grid, where you switch to being Tron. There you engage in a few levels based on the disc game, the jai-alai game, and the light cycle game. Then you escape the Game Grid with Tron (at this point playing Flynn again) while avoiding Game Tanks firing at you and Recognizers ready to stomp you out of existence. Then you play Tron again, trying to fight his way into the I/O Tower through the Factory Domain again Warrior Elites and Memory Guards. Once Tron receives instruction from Alan-One to destroy the MCP, he fights his way to the hangar bay where the Solar Sailer is, and then you play a level similar to the Intellivision TRON Solar Sailor game where he must reach the Transport Beam that will take him to the Central Computer Area (where the MCP is). (The instructions Alan-One gives Tron will also include the access code for the Transport Beam.) However, the Solar Sailer gets captured by Sark's Carrier, so the next level is a Flynn level where you must guide Tron to hiding out behind the escape shuttle and Yori to a control panel to keep the Carrier from being totally de-rezzed. Then you play Tron again, fighting against Sark who guards the MCP tower, and then you fight against the MCP itself.
Vic George 2K3 #6 Posted January 6, 2008 I also imagined a game made for the 16-bit game systems that was based on The Smurfs And The Magic Flute, also going through the various scenarios of the movie, though with a playability similar to Virgin Games' Alladin for the Genesis and Activision's Pitfall!: The Mayan Adventure. godslabrat #7 Posted January 6, 2008 A few years back, I started to work on a script for a sequel to the Super Mario Bros. Movie... same characters, envisioning the same quirky sci-fi twists, and planting it in the world of Sub-Con, as in SMB2. Overall, I think it was a neat project, though I doubt my script would have fared any better than the original at the box office.
Inky #8 Posted January 6, 2008 I actually created sprites for a Calvin and Hobbes game I wanted to program on my ST, through the STOS language. That never got past the sprites phase.. The sprites were damn good looking though.
Vic George 2K3 #9 Posted January 7, 2008 A Calvin and Hobbes game -- would that include parts where Hobbes comes alive and parts where he stays a stuffed animal?
Inky #10 Posted January 7, 2008 A Calvin and Hobbes game -- would that include parts where Hobbes comes alive and parts where he stays a stuffed animal? ACtually, yes. The plot was taken from his various adventures with his deformed snowmen... Hobbes would be like a "Smart Bomb" gimmick where he'd clear out immediate danger
Student Driver #11 Posted January 7, 2008 I would have loved to adapt one of the Peanuts TV specials or movies to a game. Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown (and Don't Come Back!) would have made a fun game. I imagine a flick-screen adventure game for the most part, graphically along the lines of the mid/late '80s Sierra adventures, controlling like the Lucas SCUMM games. Driving mini-games, a fire-fighting mini-game, etc. Robotech has been the subject of a few good games now, but... I'd love a cell-shaded Shenmue type game where you control Rick Hunter, woo Minmei and/or Lisa Hayes, fight Lynn Kyle. Full space combat simulations, mini-games set in the arcade. An open storyline, though-- save Ben, win Miriya for yourself, play Max, etc. I'm really surprised no UK computer programmers tackled Dangermouse.
