Segataritensoftii #1 Posted January 7, 2008 Just this morning, I was on GameFAQs. I looked at the poll of the day and saw this. I know Halo 3 is really overrated and all, but this is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen on ANY poll! Halo 3 is just snapping up the votes and dominating the competition, along with Mass Effect! The other games are getting hardly ANY votes! And where the crap is Bioshock? From what I can see, there are hardly any games on this poll that would even be worthy of being called "Greatest 360 game of 2007", let alone the decade. In fact, from what I've heard, I think we could safely say Halo 3 is one of the ot, if not THE most, overrated game of the decade. Sorry about that rant. I am just fuming ANGRY at this whole thing! kroogur #2 Posted January 7, 2008 I voted for Undertow just now, yeah i do find it odd Bioshock was left out.
Atari5200 #3 Posted January 7, 2008 these are 360 exclusive titles right? Then Bioshock wouldn't make the list, also like The Darkness would be on that list too, but it's multi-platform. So for exclusives, yes, Halo and Mass Effect would probably rake in all the votes as they probably are the 2 most popular exclusive titles right now. Gabriel #4 Posted January 7, 2008 Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation Bomberman Live Crackdown Forza Motorsport 2 Halo 3 Mass Effect Project Gotham Racing 4 Undertow Out of those options, is it really any surprise it's leading?
Atari5200 #5 Posted January 7, 2008 but again, the poll is for exclusives. There will probably be another poll for multi-platform, for which I believe Bioshock will win easily.
Red 5 #6 Posted January 7, 2008 (edited) I love Bioshock and would vote for it over Halo 3 easily. However, Mass Effect is easily the game of the year. Bioshock would grab second place though (if it were an exclusive). Call of Duty 4 (if it were an exclusive) should also be voted above Halo 3. Same with Guitar Hero 3. Lord Helmet #7 Posted January 7, 2008 Mass Effect > Halo
Atari5200 #8 Posted January 7, 2008 well, i've never played Halo 3, and only played the demo of Bioshock, but for what I do own and have played, Mass Effect > anything else I currently have for any system including Arcade Cabs. As much as I want to spend time with my new MVS, i can't pull myself away from Mass Effect, it's just too good.
cimerians #9 Posted January 7, 2008 Play the WII or the PS3 and forget about it. FPS! FPS! FPS! is not as bad a thing on those systems. You'll feel better.
+HammR25 #10 Posted January 7, 2008 Fuming angry because others don't share your opinion about a video game poll on some internet site?
Atari5200 #11 Posted January 7, 2008 i didn't comment because I don't understand what he's trying to say. "Play the WII or the PS3 and forget about it. FPS! FPS! FPS! is not as bad a thing on those systems." Huh? I'd say the 360 is king of FPS next to PC.

Go play a system where FPSes don't account for all the games for the system."
Atari5200 #13 Posted January 8, 2008 well Call of Duty 4 is winning the multi-platform poll.

Atari5200 #15 Posted January 8, 2008 again, i don't understand why people think this way. It's a camera angle. It's like someone saying, "god i'm sick of all these 3rd person games" that would account for what, 80% of the PS2 library? So if the camera was behind the player, everything would be good in the world?? makes no sense to me. first person, third person, makes no difference to me as long as the game is fun. Lord Helmet #16 Posted January 8, 2008 So if the camera was behind the player, everything would be good in the world?? makes no sense to me. first person, third person, makes no difference to me as long as the game is fun. Usually I find it more enjoyable when I can see my character and where his or her feet will land when I jump etc.
cimerians #17 Posted January 8, 2008 I think some people have preferences. I dont prefer to play 1st person games cause for me they tend to be pretty much the same thing (single player) but they can be fun as I own Call of Duty 4 (and Portal is unique). I've been playing them since Wolfenstein 3D and DOOM 1&2 over a decade ago so I tend to get a little sick of them regardless. Its the game mechanics, moving around picking up ammo, health, shooting guns or "firing" some sort of thing. Same crap, better graphics, better environment, but still the same at its core. I dont know how to explain it other than "gaming preference" To each there own.
Atari5200 #18 Posted January 8, 2008 ok, just didn't understand the comment you made, why is that a negative? so there's some FPS, what do people say about the Wii, too many party games, etc. etc. What do people say about the PS3, to many crap games, etc. etc. Doesn't make it true. What is your definition of too many FPS? 50% of the library? I'm pretty sure FPS only make up less than 15%, someone correct me if I'm wrong, and that's not that many. cimerians #19 Posted January 8, 2008 Well the way I see it, the 360 tends to lean heavily on the FPS with some ports being made to the PS3. The WII on the otherhand has almost ZERO 1st person games other than Metroid etc. Its the target audience each respective company is aiming for. The 360 and Microsoft are basically "creatures" from the PC world (gamers and gamemakers). The 1st XBox really bridged the gap between the PC beast and the Console beast. The first machine to do so and the subsequent 360. Mainly because of the architecture. This made many primary PC game developers (like Bungie) easily develop for the xbox and today a lot of those ancient PC developers are having happy times doing their thing on the 360. Valve and Bungie are good examples. But the one thing to remember is that thats where FPS came from. PC gaming. It simply now has spilled into console games (due to Microsoft) and in America many people like them. FPS games simply are non-existent in Asia for basically the same unappealing reasons I have among others. Anyway...as long as you like the game dont worry what other people say. I hope I didnt offend anyone, Its just the way I see things. I just wanna see a little more variety. So far there's been a TON of garbage on the WII. Its disappointing

I just don't see it the same way. I see it as a camera angle. The vantage point is through the characters eyes, not behind the character. Either way, I don't have a problem if the game is good. Mass Effect could have been first person and I wouldn't have cared. Oblivion could've been strictly 3rd person and I wouldn't have cared. if the story is good, plays well, who cares about the camera angle.
