Crazy Climber #4 Posted January 10, 2008 Triads is the name of the gang in the movie(s) Rush Hour right?
PressureCooker2600 #5 Posted January 10, 2008 Triads is a basic term for the Chinese "mafia". Kinda like the Yakuza is the Japanese "mafia". I loved Rise of the Triads.....wish I still had it. It was ten times better than Doom or Hexen....which were contemporaries at the time. The bosses were hilarious.....like the guy in a motorized wheelchair. Chickybaby #6 Posted January 11, 2008 Have Wolfenstein, Doom, Doom 2, Duke Nukem, Heretic, Diablo, Shadow Warrior, you name it it was what I enjoyed but I still have ROTT and it's one of my favorite games as well - love it. Games like those are IMO a good reason to keep an old PC.

+remowilliams #9 Posted January 11, 2008 "Whoooowantah some Wang?" Good old Lo Wang. Man those Build engine games were some real fun times. You don't need a rickety PC to relive the good old days, just Dosbox and a reasonably fast modern computer.
MCHufnagel #10 Posted January 11, 2008 You don't need a rickety PC to relive the good old days, just Dosbox and a reasonably fast modern computer. Some of these DOS games have XP compatable versions floating out there.
Red 5 #11 Posted January 11, 2008 This was the first FPS I played online with a friend. We played over a dial up modem. Right around the time Command & Conquer was popular if I remember correctly. We played those two games almost every night.
Shannon #12 Posted January 13, 2008 I'm pretty sure several of those titles were released as homebrew on the Xbox as well... Wolfenstein, Doom, Doom 2, Duke Nukem, Heretic, Shadow Warrior, ROTT , Hexen, Descent 1 & 2, Quake 1-3. Originals needed of course for the commercial .wad files. n8littlefield #13 Posted January 15, 2008 Pretty sure there's a port of ROTT to the DS now too. I haven't had a chance to try it yet though.
Mike 01Hawk #14 Posted January 20, 2008 You all should replay em with a good ole Roland Sound Canvas sound card.... you're ears will thank you
BassGuitari #15 Posted January 29, 2008 I think I still have the shareware version of ROTT somewhere. I haven't played it in over ten years, but I remember it being pretty cool. I preferred Doom and Duke 3D though. Now, does anyone remember Operation: Body Count?
bdog_147 #16 Posted January 30, 2008 Now, does anyone remember Operation: Body Count? Never heard of it....
gdement #17 Posted February 4, 2008 I remember playing it for a while, I don't think I got too far into it, but I remember getting to some area where you need a gas mask. I liked DOOM better, dropped Rise of Triad before long and never played it since.
TwinChargers #18 Posted February 9, 2008 Now, does anyone remember Operation: Body Count? Never heard of it.... How about Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold
PressureCooker2600 #19 Posted February 9, 2008 Love Blake Stone. Another great game from Apogee.
TwinChargers #20 Posted February 9, 2008 Love Blake Stone. Another great game from Apogee. I played this game religiously in my teens. Had both Aliens of Gold and Planet Strike. Liked it cause it wasn't only a shoot em up like Doom, but you could talk to some of the scientists to get there tokens, and get bonuses at the end for not shooting the good guys. Great game, just wish it was more recognized by fellow gamers.
PressureCooker2600 #21 Posted February 9, 2008 I always liked the more interactive element, too.
