+johnnywc #1 Posted August 2, 2002 Hello everyone, I'm getting ready for CGE and taking out a second mortgage on my house to pay for all of these 2600 exclusives being offered at CGE. Is there a resource that lists all of the exclusives and their prices? I'm interested in almost all of the games, especially Marble Craze!!! Thanks for the help. I'd rather not go 100% LTV if I don't have to - better interest rates ya know.... Also - I've noticed that Thrust Plus is listed as one of the products at the Atari Age booth - will this be for sale? If so, how much? Will it come with a nice label/instructions/box?
Cassidy Nolen #2 Posted August 2, 2002 Just to sweeten the pot...... I now have the final 5 Polo carts boxed and ready for Vegas. I am not going to produce any more after these have sold (only reason I have these is people ordered them in Philly, I fronted the production costs, and then they backed out on me!). You know, someone actually sold one on ebay? I was amazed. Went for 50 bucks. If they had just talked to me first......Could have saved 10 bucks... I'll have my Atariage nametag on for the show. Come find me if you want one. Cassidy
Tempest #3 Posted August 2, 2002 Hey Cassidy, save one of those for me would ya? Tempest
Albert #4 Posted August 2, 2002 Well, I don't know the prices of all the "CGE Exclusives", but I can come up with a fairly comprehensive list of the 2600 games to get you started: - Holey Moley - Crack'ed - Save the Whales - Pickup - Snow White - RealSports Basketball - Marble Craze - Space Treat - Thrust Plus: DC Edition - Mental Kombat There is at least one game unannounced that will be sold in our booth, and I wouldn't be surprised if there are others that people are holding close to their chest. We will also have copies of SCSIcide, Mr. Roboto, and Warring Worms if you're interested in obtaining those. My guess is that the boxed games like Crack'ed, Save the Whales, Holey Moley, etc. will probably be around $40. The loose homebrew games (usually including a manual) will likley run between $20 and $30. Thrust Plus, which will include a footpedal controller for the 2600, as well as a great looking and professionally printed box (unusual for a homebrew title), will be more than $40. And if you're a 5200 collector, we'll also have three 5200 titles: Haunted House II 3-D, Castle Blast, and Super Pac-Man. Then there will be games for other systems, such as Cube Quest, VecSports Boxing, and VeCaves for the Vectrex, new Lynx/Jaguar titles from Songbird, and so forth. It's going to be an expensive show for those who are interested in obtaining as many of the proto/homebrew releases as possible. I expect that unlike last year where many people tried to get a copy of all the games released, many people will be much more selective in their purchases. Most of the games we do not sell out of at the show will either be sold on AtariAge afterwards, or the authors will be selling privately. ..Al
StanJr #5 Posted August 2, 2002 as long as you take enough to snag me a Marble Craze, its all good from here baby!
Paul Slocum #6 Posted August 2, 2002 Marble Craze will be $35 and will come in a tin with instructions. -Paul
+johnnywc #7 Posted August 2, 2002 Thank you everyone for the information. Looking forward to a great show!! PS Stan - I gotcha covered...
munkyxtc #8 Posted August 2, 2002 Too bad I'm gonna be missing CGE, I really wanted to go, but with my job situation right now an all, it's really not feasable... *sniff* I really wanted to pick up the CGE Exclusive games...
StanJr #9 Posted August 2, 2002 HOLY POOP! Marble Craze comes in that SWEET tin? MAN ON MAN! Now I am totally psyched!!!! (a little known fact, I collect little tins like that) OH MAN.
munkyxtc #10 Posted August 2, 2002 Does anybody wanna pick up poor ole' Dave a copy of Marble Craze whilst they are at CGE? I have the $$$ upfront... PLEASE!!! I really X 1000 want it now that I've seen the tin it comes in... LMK
Paul Slocum #11 Posted August 2, 2002 I'm going to have to limit sales to one per person until everybody at the show who wants one gets one since I'm going to have a limited supply. I feel that if you shelled out the the cash to go to the CGE, you should get first dibs. But I will be putting a few CGE copies on Ebay at some point. And if there's enough interest I will probably do another run of carts with the tin after CGE. Or you can get the carts from Hozer. -Paul
StanJr #12 Posted August 3, 2002 Gee that's fair, Paul. I can understand the abuse of someone buying 10 copies right off the bat, but at the same time there are a lot of people in Europe who have NO shot of making CGE who probably really want one. Could you limit that to 2 per person, at least? I don't think its fair to reward the people who come to CGE and at the same time punish those that cannot make it. But do what you have to, I understand. If I don't get my copy, its all good. Stan
tiggerthehun #13 Posted August 3, 2002 Yeah, Paul, what Stan said! Btw, Stan - you collect small tins? I'm guessing you must REALLY like Altoid mints then? Good mints - and a FREE TIN BOX!!! (I like the cinnamon the best)
Paul Slocum #14 Posted August 3, 2002 I'm only going to have 40 public copies at CGE, and I think limiting it to 1 per person is the most fair. It seems like it would be a lot less fair if the first 20 people bought two and that was it. I'll go ahead and just say that later on, I'll do another run of enough so that most people that want one will be able to get one. And the second run will be the same minus the CGE logos. -Paul
tiggerthehun #15 Posted August 3, 2002 Cool - I can dig on that! Thanks, Paul!
StanJr #16 Posted August 3, 2002 Well, I guess that completely screws me out of a copy. Ah, well, it looked like a cool game in a cool tin. Whatever. Thanks anyway Paul.
tiggerthehun #17 Posted August 3, 2002 I don't care about the CGE logos - or the tin, so I'll take whatever copy I can get - but I vote that Stan gets a copy with a tin for being an awesome guy - the most prolific poster in AtariAge history - and for being a true Atari fan... Just my two cents...
+johnnywc #18 Posted August 3, 2002 Stan - Not to worry - I'm getting you a copy as we agreed. As long as I can get one before it sells out, that is. I'll be there Saturday, bright and early. Paul - when does the game go on sale? Do you have a specific time? What booth will you be at? Thanks for any info. I don't want to let down the Stan Man!!! Paul Slocum #19 Posted August 3, 2002 The homebrew games will have times that they go on sale scheduled by the CGE staff. They'll be set up to avoid conflicts with other events. I don't know the times yet, though. -Paul
StanJr #20 Posted August 4, 2002 Thanks, JohnnyWC, but I don't want you to miss out on this sweet pick-up either. Can you stick a wife or girlfriend in line with you to snag yer own copy? No reason you should go all the way to CGE and not get one, if you want it and I would hate for you to miss it on account of me. Your call, I guess. Thanks, dude.
