Aquiring arcade game rom chips

Recommended Posts

I just got ripped off by someone on ebay Selling a "Complete Zookeeper boardset" What i ended up with Is a Qix boardset without the zookeeper roms or the duaghterboard for the xtra roms. Not very complete seeing as i thought i was getting a zookeeper. Now it looks like i'll have to go with the conversion from Qix to zookeeper. How do i go about building the daughterboard and where do i get the roms for it. i have the conversion manual as well as the original but i don't know where to begin. Help!! :(

http://www.gamesforum.ca/showthread.php?t=234027 says a working set should be around 200 bucks. I checked the usual suspects and I did not see any available. You'll have to hunt. Honestly, you need to do some research and figure out what specific boards you need. I think there are a number inside that cabinet. IIRC, the roms are encrypted on top of everything else. You could get an eprom burner and eraser and make your own. Someone else could speak about encrypted roms better than I.

You also need a coin board, interconnect cables, power supply, etc. I think you must have an empty cab at this point. To buy each piece at premium piece will cost you a good bit. Maybe get on board with one of the arcade shops in the country (TNT amusements, Quarterarcade, Arcadeshop, ElDorado Games, etc) and see what they would do for you as a group buy on what you need.
