yorgle #1 Posted January 19, 2008 Does anyone here know off-hand what rams (and how many) are required to install the Rambo 256k upgrade in a 1200xl? My rambo is on the way and I'd like to order the rams so that I can get right to work installing it.

MEtalGuy66 #5 Posted January 19, 2008 YEah. 41256 is one part number.. The -12 means 120ns, but actually anything faster than 250ns is fine for the ATARI... WHat you need are 256k x 1bit drams in a 16 pin DIP package. There are quite a few manufacturers and the part numbers vary slightly. If you cant find any, I can buy them here locally for about $.75 - $1.00 each.. You need 8 of them to do a standard RAMBO XL installation. If you paypal me $8.00 + $2.00 shipping, I'll mail you a set of them...

I got the sealed one for $50.00. I bought the other one, also for 50 bucks. MIne will be going into a 1200xl as well. tip: On ebay, sorting by 'newly listed' often brings up gems in the "Buy it now" category.
