Uh... Synthcart on slashdot... holy crap.

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking I might buy a synth-cart... I'm a keyboard player - so I'm already somewhat aquainted with the scene - is it as straightforward as it seems?

Wow! Congratulations on getting a story on Slashdot! Maybe I'll have to start submitting Atari-related stories on a regular basis. :) Of course, after the last beating we took I'm not sure that's a path I want to venture down, at least not until we get the site moved to our new server. I see your site is still up, though, although it's going to be taking a pounding as long as it's up on Slashdot's front page. :)

Site Report for: [email protected]

Date Range: 8/3/2002 to 8/3/2002

Summary

 Total Visitors 20,630

 Total Pageviews 88,885

 Total Hits 310,410

 Total Bytes Transferred 33.7G

...and this was on a Saturday. I can't imagine what a weekday must be like.

I posted a message on Slashdot pointing to Hozer and the Atariage In Development Page to turn people on to all the homebrew programming going on. I felt kind of silly just having my page posted when there's so many great homebrew programmers out there.

On my page I have a link to another site that I work on, and we got 6000 visitors just through that link! So I'm sure Hozer Video got a ton of traffic since there was an even more prominent link to it.

Oh Paul!

33G of bandwidth usage in one day? How much is this going to cost you before it's over?

According to their policy, it was supposed to be shut down after 1G but it never went down (or even slowed). I guess there's a problem with their "stopper".

Sorry, I overlooked your post...

Hmmm. Well I would say that the interface takes a little getting used to, but is intuitive once you get the hang of it. You can read the manual and decide for yourself! :)
