Are You Developing A New Homebrew Game?

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys:

Is anybody making a new Homebrew game in very limited quantities? Like (for example) 5 or 10 that are only going to be distribute to AA members & are going to be numbered on the Homebrew Game Labels & Boxes? If so, please let me be the first on your list to get one. I like to have the first number (like 1 of 5, or 1 0f 10). I can try to make a Money Order the moment its finish & ready to be shipped. I would like to get a "Certificate of Authenticity" (Yes I watch QVC to much) if you could. If you are interested, please sign me up homies! I would love to sink my teeth into this. Thanks!

Uhm, why should I create artificial shortage? :ponder:

I mean, if you only want something unique, I can send you a binary of a WIP for an unreleased project. Nobody else will get this, so it is ultra-ultra rare.

If you want something for pure speculation and making money, pay me $500 and share your profit with me. You take any risk of course.

No so fast my friend. I'm making a homebrew that limited to negative one!

In fact, fdurso, if you want it just send me one of your current limited edition homebrews. You'll have negative one and I will have completed my mission!

I'm not making fun of you so much as I'm making the fun of these homebrewers that Thomas mentions (who often create artificial shortages to generate interest in their crappy game which would not sell otherwise).

I'm porting a particular zen simulation over to the colecovision. It will be pretty rare, as I don't intend to produce cartrigdes. On the other hand it's GPL'd and already hosted on sourceforge, so anybody can produce his own batch limited to 1 cart. Oh, the joys of free software.

Hi Guys:

I got the idea from the Homebrew project that was making 5 only Defender Arcade for $35 Post. The game looked fantastic, unfortunately, I was too late on reserving one. Despite he made more, reservations are already taken on it. That's why I'm interested on wanting to be the first on those who are only going to make a limited amount of quantities at that price (or a little higher). If there is a homebrewer out there that is making 5 or 10, & is going to number them on the labels & boxes, please let me know.

Defender Arcade? That sounds like a hack and not like a homebrew.

I could sell you are great looking, sealed(!) box with a 100% unique content for some extra money. Interested? ;)

That makes sense. I hate it too when there's a limited number of something and I miss out.

I wouldn't count on getting #1 of anything just by asking. The first one usually goes to someone who helped with the game's creation, production, or marketing in some significant way (or if you offer a boatload of cash :) ) Or sometimes the programmer will keep #1. Being first on the list might get you a low number, #2 if you're lucky, but probably #3-#5 is more reasonable.

I'm still trying to unload these... but the shipping is a killer.

I assume #1 is your copy? Is #2 available?

Hi Guys:

True. I'm pondering more on the Consumer verion though. I really like those ideas of a limited edition, small quantities ideas. I watch too much of those Home Shopping Network channels.

Hi Tommy:

If the Price is Right! (-_^). Homebrew, hack, its all the same to me. Its still a game in my books. As look as a individual is having fun playing it. That's the most important part to me (^_^).

Actually, my brilliant plan is just to number them all #1. That way everyone is happy. :D

I might be interested but I already own Brick. How does Brick+ differ?

Brick wasn't a limited edition. Brick+ is not only a limited edition, but it's a numbered limited edition.

And it has a "+" on it. So that means it's better.

Like getting an "A+" instead of just an "A".
