ATARIPITBULL #1 Posted August 4, 2002 My wife and I went to go see her doctor on friday and she told us that it would not be a good idea for my wife to fly, since she is pregnant and I won't go to vegas with out her, so it looks like I won't be able to make it after all. I sure do hate to miss out on all those great games and meeting some of you people, I even had $500 in cash just waiting for this show. I guess I'll just have to see if any of these people selling games, would be nice and ask us here if we want to buy any of the leftovers. (Have you ever seen a Pitbull cry, it would break your hart!!!!!)
IceCold #2 Posted August 4, 2002 That really sucks. I can't go either, but at least I didn't think I could, then couldn't.
Lost Monkey #3 Posted August 4, 2002 I feel for you Pitbull.. I am in the same boat, for the 2nd year in a row. Last year I had to change my Vegas plans so that I was leaving Vegas the day before CGE started, this year it was 2 weeks before...
+-^CrossBow^- #4 Posted August 4, 2002 How pregnant is she Pitbull? Cause as long as she is less than 6 months...(and this is being totally safe...) there shouldn't be any problems with flying. I am not a doctor, but ours and several of her friends have been told similar things from their doctors as well. They have also flown...without any problems. In fact my Sister-in-Law is about 4 months pregnant and she has been jet setting quite a bit lately visiting her folks etc... What did the doctor tell you guys exactly? Not trying to cause any problems...but it would suck for you to miss something that you both were looking forward to....because of one man's opinion. JUST FYI buddy...the Ivory Tower Knights are looking out for ya...
bangles66 #5 Posted August 4, 2002 I have 2 words for you ROAD TRIP. A nice cross country drive would be nice. Great scenery, you can even stop at thrifts along the way. That's what I'd like to do. I'm not going either. Just can't get there at this time.
Trey #6 Posted August 4, 2002 a word of warning ... check your insurance. ours stated that after so many months, we were not allowed to travel over 200 miles from home. also, if something were to happen, your doctor told you not to go, you would be the one to pay. and it wouldn't matter if it was by plane, train or automobile. just dog food for thought. Osbo #9 Posted August 4, 2002 ey pitbull here's a though... why don't u save, let's say 300 bucks, expend 200 bucks for your wife and baby baby-shower, and save a little more money for next year? Just my two cents Osbo

I'd be in trouble, i drive more than 200 miles on a whim just for a drive. That sounds crazy, although probably true, damn insuance and laywers they got this country so screwed up. I would never even think of checking my insurance for something like that. What did we wake up in "1984" and we can only go where they tell us to go? So your insurance can now tell you what you can and can't do. "damn insuance and laywers they got this country so screwed up" "
ATARIPITBULL #11 Posted August 5, 2002 I don't know why the doctor told us that she could not fly? My first son had no problems during the pregnancy and his birth went very smoothly and so far my second one is on the same path, but that is what her doctor told us and I'm not taking any chances with my baby, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see if any of these people who are selling games will be nice to us here at Atariage by offering to sell us there leftovers, after all, we are the biggest Atari website on the net. Albert #12 Posted August 5, 2002 Sorry to hear that you're not able to attend CGE, but you are obviously doing the right thing. There will always be future shows, just don't have another kid next year and you'll be all set! I'm sure there will be some unsold games that will be made available after the show. We'll make announcements about which games will be available for purchase after the show. For instance, we won't have many Mental Kombats at the show, but I know Simon will be selling them afterwards. And Paul Slocum has already announced that he will be selling additional copies of Marble Craze after CGE. And we will have additional copies of Thrust Plus: DC Edition, for starters. ..Al
ATARIPITBULL #13 Posted August 5, 2002 Sounds great!! Now I have a question for anyone going to the show. If anyone would be so kind as to pick me up any of the following, (Snow white, Holly Molley, & both of the new 20th centure fox games), I could pay you using Paypal.com or Money order, plus I would pay you an extra $5.00 per game. Please let me know if anyone can do this for me and I promise I will never hump your leg!!!
Chris++ #14 Posted August 5, 2002 Yeah, don't take any chances whatsoever with a baby. Neat as it might be, it's just a damn video game meet. Maybe you should spend the $500 on the kid. Start a college fund or an IRA. Why the hell not, right? Anyway, there's a slim chance I might be able to afford to go this year. If I find out that I can, I'll PM you and let you know that I can grab those carts for you. But it's up in the air for the moment. CF
+-^CrossBow^- #15 Posted August 5, 2002 Well..I am going...but with the ticketing system they are using this year to get the carts...getting Dupes of those games will be very difficult. I plan to get those same games myself. So they would be dupes for me. Otherwise I wouldn't haven't any problem picking them up.
ATARIPITBULL #16 Posted August 6, 2002 Thank you guys for any help you can give me, and Chris, my son already has a IRA, Bank account, Bonds from G.M. and a college fund, I make pretty good money working for G.M. so my boy is way ahead of the game. Cybergoth #17 Posted August 6, 2002 I sure do hate to miss out on all those great games and meeting some of you people Hi Efren! I can't tell how much I can feel with you. Because of lacking the money for the flight to the U.S.A. I missed something even more important (-> to me) than the CGE last week: http://www.contestclub.com/Epyx.htm See, I WAS INVITED! ATARIPITBULL #18 Posted August 6, 2002 Boy that sucks, it looks like it would have been a great time for you. Do you have any of those stock certificates they showed on the site?
Joystick Jolter #19 Posted August 7, 2002 Manuel, Too bad. Arnie Katz is a great guy. Had lots of talk time with him many years ago at both CES and SCES. He really helped me early on in my endeavors and was always available if I wanted to ask him anything. Their Marketing dept. was great too. I'll bet that you would have enjoyed yourself.
