Ross PK
I ask because when looking at Cosmic Tunnels it says on the title screen that it's episode 4 in the Captain Sticky saga. I guess Captain Sticky's gold is episode 1. So what games are 2 and 3?
Beetle
Yeah does anyone know? A tape with Cohen Towers on side a and Cosmic Tunnels on side b was my first software when i got my 800XL in 1986. Cosmic Tunnels is a very nice game, for those who didn'check it out yet... Wow, is that 22 years ago?
Ross PK
Cosmic Tunnels is indeed a great game that I played back in the day, I'd love to get hold of the original.
Cybernoid
I have wondered about this question too. And, I use to play Cosmic Tunnels for hours... I could get stuck just making him fly from jump pad to jump pad... boing... boing... The sound effects where great!
tjb
I really liked Cosmic Tunnels as well. It was one of the first disks to make its way into my first disk drive. tjb
redman
Was an answer to this ever found?
Lost Dragon
From what has been reported so far, English Software never had any plans to make a series of games out of the Captain Sticky character,so how a game by a different coder,Tim Ferris, published by Datamost, came to proclaim itself Episode #4, is most curious. Have the likes of ANTIC ever interviewed Tim?. Tim,if your reading, please come forward and clear this one up. Ta. B-)
GlowingGhoul
It was an homage to Star Wars, which began with "Episode IV" in 1977.
Mclaneinc
Its most likely a 80's fad gesture, lots of songs had numerical suggestions like Chant Number 1, I think it was just a whim by the coder to make it sound more grand than it was and no real actual meaning to it..
Mclaneinc
It was an homage to Star Wars, which began with "Episode IV" in 1977. Ah, is this based on a factual source or an idea? Sounds like it was source based by the sincerity..
GlowingGhoul
Ah, is this based on a factual source or an idea? Sounds like it was source based by the sincerity.. Consider it hearsay. I also seem to recall that at the 1983 CES Datamost had some seriously scantily clad booth babes and a lecherous Captain Sticky character. The HR director was arrested for pandering!

kiwilove
A plausible guess is that - this was this was his first proper game project - and the previous ones were leading up to this - that they would be simple mini-games in learning how to program and use the hardware. That all programmers go through this type of learning curve - and will have these kind of examples in their archives - if they kept them?
