MameOSX freezing with x-arcade

First let me tell you what i am using. OSX leopard on an imac g5. The Emulator is MameOSX. Playing it with X-arcade dual Joystick.

 

So, I recently bought this x-arcade. I have been successful getting games to play but sometimes in the middle of a game everything freezes. Does anyone have any suggestions what I can do to fix this issue?

 

For example heres what happens. I was just playing Pac Mania and everything was going good, but then after about a minute and a half the game just stopped. I was moving the joystick around and nothing would happen. (i could still see the game frozen on screen) But then about 15 seconds later it started going again. And then stopped again a few seconds later.

 

Well, that's my issue. Hope someone can help!
