Curt Vendel #1 Posted February 9, 2008 (edited) Last but certainly not least... 7800 Crossbow sources... What might be interesting is to take this code and engine and make a 7800 version of Pitfall or perhaps 7800 Smurfs Adventure, Altered Beast? Heck, a Sonic Game for the 7800 could be possible... Have fun!!! Curt CrossBow.zip Edited February 9, 2008 by Curt Vendel

+Mitch #4 Posted February 10, 2008 According to the source code this should be the final version. I have not assembled it to verify. Mitch

ST emulator actually. Though I'm not actually compiling them (Can't remember the correct MadMac command line). All of the ones I posted BINs for actually have either a compiled .O file or .SR file. .SR files can be easily converted to BIN files. .O files can be easily converted to SR files. Incidentally, when you compile using MadMac it normally outputs a .O file. Mitch

I'd like to try messing around with 5200 Galaxian when I get a chance. There's some demo version Galaxian as well that would be neat to see. I'm not sure if the 5200 Galaxian is compatible with MadMac or not. If I remember how to compile one of the 7800 games I may try to compile that one as well. Galaxian was created before the ST existed so it must have been a compiler on Atari's mainframe(?) computer before they made the ST and wrote the Madmac compiler. I wonder if Madmac on the ST was written to be compatible with the earlier compiler. Anybody know? Allan
+Mitch #12 Posted February 12, 2008 OK, I figured it out. I must have been playing to much with Dasm recently and thinking of command lines. MadMac = Drag and Drop. I compiled the first bank of Crossbow and it has three bytes different from the production version. I guess now I'll have to compile the other eight banks to see if there is anything else different. +Mitch #13 Posted February 12, 2008 Bleh, no other changes other than the three bytes I already saw. Mitch Crossbow_4_18_88.zip
Tempest #14 Posted February 12, 2008 Bleh, no other changes other than the three bytes I already saw. Mitch Could those 3 bytes be bankswitching hot spots? It's hard to imagine what 3 bytes could be. A copyright date perhaps? Tempest

Tempest #16 Posted February 12, 2008 Well now we at least know who wrote Crossbow. Scott Marshall... Why does that name sound familiar? Tempest
DanBoris #17 Posted February 13, 2008 Well now we at least know who wrote Crossbow. Scott Marshall... Why does that name sound familiar? Tempest Here is his web site, you can see a list of the other games he worked on there. http://mysite.verizon.net/scottathome/index.html If you lookup the phone number that's in the readme.doc file, it's still his number!
