Battlezone
Do you think a gamecard, used and abused, could die after many years of play or is it eternal? Edited February 10, 2008 by Battlezone
chris_lynx1989
A game card/cart can last 30 yrs or more, as long as it is not subjected to a static shock at the chip or card edge,a strong magnetic field,or a high fall/being crushed they should last (in theory) forever,I guess.Look at old Atari 2600 carts and such from the 1970s,it's 30 some years later and mine STILL work.I cannot see why most or all my Lynx carts won't work in 2019,2025 or 2029.Barring an EMP from an A bomb going off, they should be just fine.I'm hoping this helps some. SRGilbert
Do you think a gamecard, used and abused, could die after many years of play or is it eternal? I guess it kind of depends on what you mean by "abused". I'd say as long as the contacts are intact it will probably last forever.
xubidoo
i bought a couple in the past that were completly dead (Zendecon/Warbirds) they looked perfectly fine but no amount of cleaning made any difference i suppose its mostly down to how they are stored and looked after ,but like anything you can no doubt get a faulty 1 that simply gives up the ghost before its time.
