Just the Atari 2600 from my dad, and the ColecoVision from my mom. Of course, she had to sell the 2600 to a friend (along with the 2600 Donkey Kong game, which was one of my favorite versions of the game) in order to get the ColecoVision in early 1984.

Christmas gifts that come to mind include a Coleco Gemini in the mid 1980s, a Super Nintendo in 1995, Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis 3 in 1999, PSOne and a Sega Dreamcast in 2002 or so, Playstation 2 in 2004, and a Nintendo Wii. And a new Atari 7800 2-3 years ago to replace one that needed repairs.

I've also been given systems before from people that didn't want them anymore.

Pretty much everything.. until the Famicom when I was already old

Matter o' fact the first console I bought with my own money was the Famicom (actually it turned out to be a famiclone) when I was in high school. Then I went to college and of course there I spent a good chunk of the money my parents sent me on consoles including the NES, the SMS, then the TG16, the Genesis & the Super NES. And then after I got out of college then it was pretty much all me again.

But yeah prior to that. It as all gifts. With the 5200 being the most memorable one in my memory :)

Original Gameboy with Metroid 2, I think soon after Metroid 2 came out.

32X a couple years ago from a friend who knows I collect systems.

Neo Geo PC from the same friend last year

All the other systems I got as a kid were basically hand me downs from my brother, or systems I saved for myself.

I guess my 2600 could count, because my brother got an NES for Christmas and then gave me hs 2600.

Got a 5200 I believe in 1983 for Christmas, then a Commodore 64/1541 in 1985. Actually someone gave my dad a TS 1000 back in 1981/82...completely useless little thing, but I loved playing with it because it was a computer and computers were magical.

I got an Atari 2600 sometime in 1981 and never knew it. I was too young to really now how to play with it so my parents kept in a back room for about six years before giving it to me. Which was too long because in 1983 I was going to the neighbors to play their Atari. I think they forgot it was even there to tell you the truth.

The next year, after they finally gave me my Atari, they got me a Nintendo for Christmas.

I got an Intellivision in 1980, which is still probably the best Christmas gift I ever got. That set me down a lifelong path of gaming, and in fact set my career path for a while too :)

I got an Intellivision II in probably 1983, which was also a great gift, as it rekindled my then-waning interest in the system.

I got an NES for Christmas in 1985, which, looking back, seemed totally logical and I should have been really grateful for. But you know how kids are; only 2 years after my Inty II, I thought I'd outgrown console games and didn't really care much about the NES. To this day, I only have about five games for it. (I actually sold my original system, but kept the games, and then re-bought another NES later.)

I got a GameBoy in 1989. I really wasn't too happy with it. I didn't want one; thought it was ugly and the games looked really dumb. I never played it much, though I eventually changed my mind about the platform once the GBC was released and I actually asked for (and received) a GameBoy Color for Christmas sometime in the early 90's.

I got a PlayStation as a college graduation present in 1995. By then, I'd come back around to console games. I ended up selling it after about a year too! But I realized it was a mistake soon after and bought another one.

I think that's about it. The vast majority of my systems I either purchased or traded for myself.

I got a Super NES and Super Mario World as a birthday gift in Nov '91 and an N64 and Super Mario 64 in Nov. '96. My parents bought me an NES and Commodore 64 when I was a kid, but I don't remember if they were presents or they got them for me just for the heckuvit. Everything else I bought.

I got my fair share of video game/computer gaming gifts...

Atari Video Pinball - Christmas '79 (I really wanted a VCS -- parents didn't have the $$ for it :( )

Atari VCS - Birthday '81

TI-99/4a - Christmas '83 (these were like $99 at this time)

Apple //e - Birthday '85

NES - Birthday '87

Hmm...also pestered my dad into buying a Sears Super Video Arcade around '84 that was on clearance for $30. I guess that counts as a gift?

-NES- parents were just feeling really nice, and probably sick of me asking for one, 1991

-Gameboy- one for me, one for my brother, Xmas 1992

-Sega Genesis- Xmas 1993

-Sega Game Gear - mom was awesome, 1994

-Sony Playstation - Xmas 1996

-Game Boy Color -birthday, 1999

-Atari VCS 6-switch - what-the-hell present from the g/f, 2001(?)

-Odyssey 2, Xmas from g/f, 2002 or 2003...she actually just wanted to get me the Voice module, since I already had an O2, but the only way she could get one for a good price was to buy a huge Odyssey lot...fortunately, I didn't have most of the games it came with, so that was a bonus!

-Super NES - what-the-hell present from the g/f, 2004 (?)

-Atari Flashback 2, birthday 2006 or 2007

I got my NES for Christmas back in the day. Same with my C64 (a computer, but I used it as a game system).

2 Christmases ago my wife got me a Vectrex.

Other than that, I've bought every system myself.
