Modded ColecoVision - A/V, S-Video, BIOS, Exp Mod 1

Recommended Posts

Anybody here interested in a Modded / Refurbished ColecoVision with Expansion Module 1 (Atari Expansion). The console, expansion module, and controllers have all been completely disasembled and thoroughly cleaned inside and out. All electrical contacts including the On/Off switch, cartridge slots, card-edge and connector, and the likes have been burnished, de-oxidized, and coated. It has:

S-Video Output - Gold-plated, black-insulated din connector (S-Video jack)

Composite Video Output - Gold-plated, yellow-insulated phono connector (RCA jack)

Analog Audio Outputs (dual-mono) - Gold-plated, red & white insulated phono connectors (RCA jack)

"Intro Skip" BIOS - allows user to skip the 12 second title screen of Coleco published games by pressing the left fire button (an absolute must for true ColecoVision enjoyment in my opinion)

Also included are (2) refurbished controllers, (1) refurbished Expansion Module 1, (1) power supply, and (1) 6' gold-plated A/V cable. And yes, the Expansion Module 1 works perfectly with both the Composite Video and S-Video, and both with perfect sound. So bascially this package is a Composite/S-Video Modded ColecoVision and Atari 2600.

This is a console that I had started modding a while back and forgot about untill I found it this weekend. This is the first modded console I've been able to get done in over a year and might be the last for a while untill I get some more time.

I'll get more pics up tonight after work. I happened to snap this one off last night. If anybody's interested send me a PM with an offer, if not I'll list it up on the Ebay.

I'll accept offers untill Friday. I've already got two offers on it.

Should I list the offers like a silent auction?

Where do you get those color-keyed rca/s-video jacks from? All I can find locally is black (and sometimes red) rca jacks and goofy inline s-video sockets. I'd rather have nickel plated but gold would do.

We'll say Friday 02/15/2008 @ 11:59 PM Eastern Time will be the latest offers will be accepted.

Here's a couple more pics:

The first working power supply I found out of my box of many was this #74942 double-ended version. Like a laptop power supply the transformer is in the middle of the cables so it won't take up the space of 3 power outlets when plugged in, and is definately the more desirable version of the 2 that were made. If for some reason the highest bidder wants the wall brick version, I'm sure I can find a working one if I dig a little more.

I also shaved the expansion module door knobs so that the door won't get stuck open (unless somehow you were to really jack it out of position), but will also stay in the up position for inserting the expansion modules.

As I forgot to mention and for those interested, I accept payment in the form of PayPal, check or money order. For a shipping estimate you can check USPS.com. The package weighs about 10 lbs. and will be shipping from Toledo, OH, 43615.

To publicaly respond to a PM I received: If there is a multiple-way tie in the highest offer I receive, the bidder who bid first will be the winner.
